    Getting started with rotarycraft

    I changed the sound level in the configs down to five percent (0,05). This doesn't seem to change the range of the sound, but makes it relatively faint. Especially DC engines are much more bearable now.

    Yeah, that happened to me, too. The worst thing about it: I think if I hadn't panicked upon falling, I would have had enough time to just open the inventory and put the jetpack on. But by the time this occured to me, I was already halfway down.

    I have been using Railcrafts tunnel bore, it's quite good. It's not overly expensive (a bunch of steel, but not much else) and runs just fine with charcoal. The only problem is that it does require increased maintenance, since it will stop when it detects lava or water ahead.

    Apparently, the fermenter does not use the forge dictionary for saplings. I was unable to get forestry apple oak saplings in there, though they are registered as TreeSapling.

    Yep, that didn't work. Apparently, mana batteries no longer convert. Building a regular essence nexus helped.

    One easy solution would be to include IguanaMan's vanilla Tweaks and only turn on disable sleeping. That way, beds can still be used to set spawnpoints, but not to skip the night. I have set it that way because I have never liked the "skip nights" mechanic. Night is what makes survival mode...

    A good rule of thumb for researches seems to be that when there are two nodes about the same distance from your starting point in different directions, the research will likely be impossible.

    Well a stream of water and a hopper works. Not sure if it's the best solution performance-wise, but it sure is cheap.

    Ah, no, but I found it: Ores don't have different IDs, they use metadata (i.e. 2001:1, 2001:2 etc.). Disabling metadata of course messes up ore sorting.
