You're horribly misinformed on the purpose of igneous extruders if that's how you feel about them, they aren't there to make cobblegen easier but to provide a form of cobblegen with less lag.

The water hives do need water lilies, I think. You can get them by crooking dirt covered by water unless that's changed like I heard the ex nihilo/whichever author mention once. Most of the hives now have a blood magic recipe now, as well. I'm pretty sure you can get oysters through Mariculture...
