Well, what I think that maybe happening. First you named both world with the same name. Second, the folder that minnecraft is trying to save don't have enough permissions. May I ask which launcher are you using?

Sorry about that but, I can't see any relationship between updating Windows and crashing your world. But keep in mind that this is a WIP and as I stated at disclaimer, you may have to restart your world at each version upgrade (of Langoliers not Windows :)).
