Ooh. I like the idea, but it would drive me batty if implemented. I like everything to be full, all the time. I have capacitor banks that do NOTHING but look pretty and store loads of power.

Mekanism is best mod. Seriously, I can't live without it.

What server host would you recommend for running one of the ftb modpacks?

Well, I started modded MC with IC2, but as of recently, I've come to dislike the mod intensely. I would recommend TE. I've been playing a non-ic2 modpack for months though, and jumping into Direwolf and IC2 left me with a bad taste in my mouth. Seriously, those machines can be slooooooow. Or...
