I can think of a few ways to power them... Can't wait to finally get into the tech sides of things in my SSP world since I have been mainly playing with TC to think up new foci. Can't say too much about power right now since all I have right now is a crystal in a furnace.

Best to start small, and make a nice vanilla wheat farm. Once you have that at a decent size, say 9x9 or 9x18, then you can focus a lot more on caving, etc. Edit: And on various... magics.

Hey, there! You have to bind the Lava Crystal to you, similar to the blood orbs. Also, if you right-click on the Altar with the Divination Sigil it will tell you how much LP is in it - right-clicking with the sigil alone will tell how much your Soul Network contains, which is a different thing...

In all honesty, Blood Magic isn't really combat-oriented until you reach that point. Before that, it is more utilitarian in nature with things such as the Lava Crystal, Sigil of the Green Grove, and their own infinite lava and water buckets. Also, until you at least get a Magician's Blood Orb...

Dire hasn't been doing mod spotlights at all, only really on rare occasions lately. There have been quite a few mod spotlights that have grabbed Dire's interest enough to say "Yes, I will do that!" however only, I think, TC4 and qCraft have received them in recent weeks.
