    Content/Cross-Mod Compatibility in Forge/A Forge Sister-Mod?

In the case of something like the ore and fluid registries, that's a bit different, because it lets you expand on existing vanilla features and avoid conflict between mods. But power, dusts, multiparts, and anything like that are all concepts invented by the community. They're really only...

    Recent Events Discussion (RED) Thread

I don't really understand why one of the most graphically-intensive mods out there is going to the most graphically-challenged version to date.

    Content/Cross-Mod Compatibility in Forge/A Forge Sister-Mod?

Forge technically already goes above what an API should do by fixing vanilla's bugs. If you ask me, Forge takes long enough to start nowadays as it is, it just doesn't need more weighing it down.

I feel like the security patch in 1.8.4 came from the fact that the Reddit topic was huge rather than the severity of the problem itself.

    I Have Found a EE2 Remake...For 1.4.7!

If you dig around hard enough you can still find them out on the web, and/or Youtube video descriptions, places like that. PROTIP: Search for "Technic SSP" on the new Technic Launcher. You'll find Technic Pack v7.2.6 SSP for Minecraft 1.2.5.

What's new in modded minecraft today?

I guess I should put this here for those who don't read Reddit. If you're still playing 1.4.7 packs like Ultimate or the older DW20 pack then you might be interested.

    I Have Found a EE2 Remake...For 1.4.7!

I can confirm that this is indeed a modified version of the 1.2.5 EE2. There's no question, the classes are identical in some places. It might be fine in regards to malware/spyware/whatever, but given where it comes from I personally wouldn't use it unless I went through every class myself...

Digging for some old mods (b1.7.3)

The mods you're putting together will almost certainly be more fun, but if you're into these old versions you might be interested in something I've been doing lately. The b1.7.3 version won't be compatible with ModLoader/Forge, but the a1.2.6 has more features anyway.

Digging for some old mods (b1.7.3)

I went through something similar once when trying to get some mods together for that version. The only thing I can help you with is Recipe Book. I can't remember where I found it, but I did decompile it and browse through it to make sure it was safe.

What's new in modded minecraft today?

Something I added into my alpha 1.2.6 modding was a lattice block, which I felt was sorely lacking from vanilla, so I whipped together a 1.7.10 version to play with as well. Or on Curse, alternatively. I dunno what people prefer these days.

Lag on SSP game. But I have a decent computer.

Make sure you're using 64-bit Java, allocate a decent amount of RAM without going too far (maybe 2.5-3GB), disable vsync, set fps to unlimited, and see if that makes any difference. Otherwise there's just not a lot else you can do. To be blunt, most of the modpacks have too many mods, and...

What's new in modded minecraft today?

Instead of 1.2.5 to 1.7.10 I decided to go backwards and do 1.7.10 in alpha 1.2.6.

    Recent Events Discussion (RED) Thread

Rotarycraft is visible source, with a specific allowance of modifying it for personal use. This means he's outright saying you can do anything to the mod, to the tech tree, to the recipes, or anything else, to your heart's content. Whether I want to use creative mode to spawn an item, modify...

What's new in modded minecraft today?

This probably won't appeal to most, but I don't think I ever linked it here, so just in case anyone is into old versions, here you go. I ported back the hopper, a recipe guide, a crappy minimap, lots of tweaks, etc.

    Mods RedPower 1.4.7

Oh nice, I'm glad you found something that worked after all. I would have been interested in knowing about that back when I played it! I probably would have gotten rid of the tungsten at least.

I was just going to skim the thread until I saw that. It looks awesome. I want to play with that. Anyhoo, as for RF, I just kind of shrug. I still come from the "we'll find a way to convert it" mentality so I personally don't mind having more than one power system. Not to mention, so many...

    Mods RedPower 1.4.7

RedPower's worldgen is hard-coded, unfortunately. I believe the only thing you could configure was disabling the metal ores. I don't know of any mods which altered this, because the author was somewhat particular about anyone tampering with or adding to her mod. This was a problem when I was...

    Bug Major JAVA conflict

It looks like your LZMA library could be missing or damaged. Try running the FTB launcher from a different location (and/or changing the "install folder" in the options) so that it can rebuild its directory structure.

Any luck with FTB on Mac OS X?

Monster is a 1.6.4 pack, and Forge for that version has a problem under Java 8 unless you're using a fix. I believe they included it in a later update, so make sure you're running the latest version of the pack. If that doesn't fix it, a log would be helpful. My experience with Hackintoshes...
