Try updating your GPU drivers, and failing that, try seeing if you have any CPU-Intensive apps running at the same time. :)

What you guys are suggesting sounds like overkill, honestly. :P It could be a simple matter of an outdated flash/java/html5 plugin or suchlike. Try checking your browser and plugin versions and make sure they're updated. :)

It might not be prudent to set a diamond pipe to the stone swords, in the case that the diamond pipe does not ignore damage values, You'll have to pump from the hopper as though it was a chest, in order to get items from it. :)
