    Mod Dev Title Request

Around the 19th of August this year I released the first version of RFTools so my mod is older then 2 months. Here is the forum post where I post information about my mod...

RFTools: new RF based utility mod for 1.7.10

Ryan Clayton just made a new spotlight for RFTools. This one is up-to-date upto version 1.33 and even explains the power generation in full detail. So I certainly recommend you check it out if you were uncertain about certain parts of the mod. One small mistake is that he mentions the damage in...

    1.8

Well I haven't looked to closely at this moment so I don't really know but I will soon try it out in any case as I also need this kind of thing. I can't imagine that there isn't a way around this. At the very least internally Minecraft also has to do basic rendering and I can't imagine that we...

    1.8

Ok, and where do you get that information from?
  8. McJty

    1.8

Not too much. I know TESR basically still exist but ISBRH's have been replaced with a new Model system. While I don't 100% know how this new Model system works I have been assured (by Lex and others) that it still allows you to define custom models with which you can still basically do anything...

It will not be needed to make that many json files. There are other ways.

Mod Feedback ChromatiCraft questions and suggestions

Ah. Well in that case I'll just go very far away :-) Anyway I already have a lot of dimensions from mystcraft which are populated with pylons.

    1.8

Everything that is possible with 1.7.10 is still possible in 1.8. That includes things like chisel, blocks that take on the appearance of other blocks (like carpenters) and so on. Things are just different. Don't worry people. There is just a lot of drama and misinformation for no reason at all.

Mod Feedback ChromatiCraft questions and suggestions

Ok, for now this is not really an issue. The pylons we have been breaking are in the overworld and when we start with Chromaticraft we'll probably do it in another dimension anyway. But thanks for the warning.

    No I was not aware?

Mod Feedback ChromatiCraft questions and suggestions

Hmm that is weird. We have been temporarily disabling all near pylons with no problems. Just breaking that block and placing it on the ground near the pylon so that we can later restore them.

Just hit it (quickly) with a pickaxe. You can then pick it up and put it back later.

    Poll: RFTools Dimension Builder Penalties

And here we have an important milestone. Upto now I have always been working on the machines and infrastructured needed for the dimension builder system but I never actually created a dimension. This changes today. Behold my very first (and pretty boring) dimension created with RFTools! You can...

1.0.0: Many Items are not stackable

This problem is not specific to DW20. I have the same in my custom 1.7.10 modpack. I believe it has to do with the recent move away from id's and that somewhere in the forge and/or minecraft code this isn't yet handled properly. Not sure if there is a solution for this.

    Poll: RFTools Dimension Builder Penalties

I like the idea of making the 'kick out' of a failing dimension gradual like you mention. In a sense it might be a good idea to bring some parts of Mystcraft-like instability back when power is getting low. Say the internal buffer for the dimension has capacity N then you could start inducing...

    Poll: RFTools Dimension Builder Penalties

New progress report. Here you see a tooltip of a realized dimension tab item. This is an item which contains information for a specific dimension. In the tooltip you can see a summary of the kind of dimlets that have been used as well as the progress on creating the dimension (23% in this case...

What's new in modded minecraft today?

That's of course possible but I prefer to wait because otherwise I would have to maintain two code bases (1.8 is very different from 1.7 so you can't really use the same code base) and that's a lot of work.
