As it fits nicely with GalactiCraft I feel that my mod RFTools would also fit. In addition to exploring the planets in our own solar system you will have to guide the Orion ship towards distant galaxies and new dimensions. (is that roughly the idea? :-)

Ah no, you can't recover dimlets out of random features. I am actually storing the dimlets used for any dimension. You can do /rftdim info <number> which will give you the description string which is basically a string version of the dimlets you used.

I mean ticks as in 1/20 of a second. I actually meant 0 to 15 but at tick 0 it has no charge at all so only 15 valid arrival moments. What do you mean by recover? If you mean you want to change the dimension later to add 'slow time' then you can use the Dimension Editor to inject dimlets...

I'm preparing for a new rftools release. This version will have a lot more support for other mods (but I always welcome suggestions for more support). I'm also still lacking good ways to properly handle Big Reactors (doesn't seem to have a good API). It would be nice if people could test this...

You will probably also have this with RFTools dimensions. This is not something that can be fixed easily. About the only way is upgrading your server to be more powerful. Generation of dimensions is simply very hard.

Corrupted how? Do you get a crash? If so can you post the log here?

The volcanoe thing is fixed in more recent versions of rftools. They were broken on server.

If you want to void a lot of RF power you can always build a few expensive RFTools dimensions :-) My mod has some very easy ways to get rid of a lot of RF very quickly.

Dimensions that are not in use only cost harddisk space. Nothing else.

The RFTools shield is indeed wither proof. The spawner from rftools can also spawn withers but I haven't tried it yet. So I'm not certain if the spawned withers actually explode. I will have to try it out. If they don't you can easily combine an rftools spawner with shield. The reason I'm not...

I personally prefer multiblocks that arise from multiple (but distinct) blocks working together to a common goal. In pathfinder rftools world don't use power. But normally they do. There are at least two glowstone blocks in every dimension you make :-)

Still not good thought but I'm not sure this is actually a bug in RFTools. Can also be a bug in tinkers construct or some incompatibility.

How are you opening it exactly? Do you have a tinkers construct pick in your hand by any chance?
