    The space is not an issue - I happen to have a HUGE room left after removing a wall-of-barrels setup, which has a ME network in it anyway. Thanks a lot for the replies and ideas!

    Is there a way to "automatically" set a recipe in a Forestry machine (Carpenet, Thermonic fabricator) to use with AE? Or I should make one copy of each machine for every recipe I (may) need?

    OK, following @Omicron's advice I've upgraded y backpacks to woven (thanks to ExtraBee machines I got the stuff I needed fast), and now they last about as long as my GraviChestPlate, which is much better.
