I absolutely love Forestry backpacks - until they run out of space, and I have to return to my base ('case there is too few space in my inventory and too much stuff in TF's Hollow Hills). So, I was wondering if I could send my backpacks to the base via an Ender Pouch to get auto-emptied and then get them back from (probably another) Ender Pouch. Is that possible?

I don't think that is possible, because you need to shift click on a chest for it to work, and I don't remember any machine being capable of doing that.
They even had to create a turtle attachment for the crescent hammer.

What you could do is to take an ender chest with you (instead or in addition to your pouch), and use the shift click to empty them in no time.

And remember, you can triple the inventory space in backpacks with a little bit of basic beekeeping. Just grab tropical bees from their natural hives, no breeding necessary.

Since they're so cheap, the solution I used was to make more then one.
You could probably get away with having an autocarfter making a new one every time you put a pull one in a pouch or the like.
Then you'd have to empty them all manualy.

Realisticaly, I've never had a situation where I've used more then a large backpacks worth of space. Expect for the odd time where a barrel exploded and I really wish it HADN'T picked it up.

OK, following @Omicron's advice I've upgraded y backpacks to woven (thanks to ExtraBee machines I got the stuff I needed fast), and now they last about as long as my GraviChestPlate, which is much better.

If you still have too little space, just add canvas bag filled with woven backpacks, or use ender pouch filled with canvas bags filled with woven backpacks.
