So Vanilla minecraft has a hard limit of hostile mobs that can spawn normally. So what I'm guessing is happening is that you're right next to a tainted biome and the tainted mobs are spawning and hitting that limit. Probably best to just move away from that biome.

Hmm this would make sense since the leave's on my tree's would have been about 7 blocks away from the harvesters tree farm so that would probably be near enough for them to connectt. Well I know what I'll be feeding to my hungry node next! thanks guys :)

Yeah it seems hostile mobs will target golems so it's probably a reguler mob, I've encased my golems in a room and had no problems

I tried that and unfortuantely no it doesn't work, although I think it is ment to work

Constantly spamming spells gives deminishing returns, so the more you use spells in quick succession the less xp you get, I was level 50 or so before I bricked my last world and to get back to that point will take a long time casting spells.
