You won't find a free host (Especially not 24/7 and lag free), Simple as that. Look in the Server section to play on someone else's already made server, There are some good 24/7 lag free servers out there.

With MFFS you don't actually need to force field the whole area. The Defense Station can kill mobs (Only Aggressive is set that way) itself. You may need more then 1 of them to cover an area that big though.

I personally use ForgeBackup for my singleplayer (I like using bleeding edge mods) and it seems to work great, and be very configurable. However, I haven't personally tested it on a server, but I think it would still work nicely for that.
