Agreed -- "Oil Block" adds a GREAT deal of instability. I've countered the Oil Block in an Oil Ocean age with Charged (knowing it will cause fire), Scorched Surface, and Meteors x 2 and STILL ended up with additional negative modifiers AND decay before.

If your server doesn't have enough memory you won't lag. The server will crash. Memory bandwidth can slow things down... but if Minecraft run out of memory it will crash straight up. How liberal are you with chunk loading? Ten people, each with around 200 chunks across three dimensions...

The saplings from a 3x3 farm can nearly run 2 36H boilers -- if you take all those logs and turn them into charcoal (or sawmill them into planks.... though I'm not a fan of that approach) you can easily fuel 2 more solid fueled 36H boilers off of a 3x3 farm with fertilizer.

Note that a bee will not produce things that are flagged as "Specialty" products unless they are in their ideal environment. You should be able to use the Alveary blocks that allow you to alter the environment to get these guys to work though.
