Weird Things Happening.. 1.7.10

I played around in 1.7 for a while and the inital chunk loading stage was very laggy, but quitting and restarting the world seemed to help. And after that, it actually performs a lot better than 1.6, for me anyway. Next time I boot it up I will make sure to disable Botania because those flowers spammed all over the place with their little particle effects just cant be good for framerates.

I use the following settings:
# The density of each flower patch generataed, defaults to 32, the lower the number, the less each patch will have.
I:worldgen.flower.density=4

# The quanity of flower patches to generate in the world, defaults to 3, the lower the number the less patches geenrate.
I:worldgen.flower.quantity=3

Seems to generate sufficient flowers. Haven't actually used Botania yet, so might be too much of a "nerf", but the world looks so much better without the flower spam.

Also, disable any "shedding" in the config. That's just another massive amount of entities floating around and extra processing.

That always seems good. Now setup your normal array of machines and logistics and tell us if its better than 1.6

Yeah a restarted and loaded world seems to do wayy better, and Botania looks kinda cray talk anyways I might just disable it but I'm DEFINITELY reducing the bloody flowers. Seems like a weird learning curve with lots of flowers and not much in return though.. But I'm not sure. I sure as hell need to get into Blood Magic cuz I STILL haven't and it looks badass

*gestures to a chair* Sit down... Now tell me why you haven't tried BM yet...
I will admit, it was one of those mods I was hesitant about trying to start with (magic usually puts me off) but as soon as I messed around with it... :D
Sigil of Haste, Air Sigil and haste on your boots... Once you go bound armour, you can never go back :P

Why does nobody mention the 8 use 5 minute Strength IV Resistance IV potions? Or a splash potion of poison with a greater lengthening catalyst thrown into it? The potion system is one of my favourite parts, and all anyone ever wants is bound armour :(

I don't care too much for bound armour as KAMI armour is much better ;)
But I like to move around at a million miles an hour :P

Also, I am not a massive fan of the potions, just because effort :P

Not too sure on the balance between Bound and KAMI tbh. KAMI has flight, but bound armour offers better protection and is more configurable (Uber Scarecrow armour anyone?)

More configurable, yes. Better protection *shakes head frantically* the top tier KAMI armour reduces all damage to naught, even when attacked by a rapier. Bound armour is still bypassed by the rapier :P

I have taken damage in full KAMI armour before. It doesn't make you invincible. Bound Armour turns invisible when you do. Wars are fought in more ways than brute strength...

*Starts making 20 minute invis flasks, Strength 4 flasks, and Poison 4 splash flasks* Don't get too comfortable now...:D

I have taken damage in KAMI, but only half a heart or something like that :P
And Bound Armour is just a PITA as it means I need a constant LP generation... also, when fighting Elementals, they armour doesn't work, so yeah... KAMI = better for that :P

As I said before, Strength 4 potions. With a sharpness V bound blade, the fight is over in seconds.
 
Less effort than KAMI armour though :P besides, we should probably stop derailing this thread

So yeah, Fastcraft seems to fix a few of the issues with 1.7.10. But I still think 1.7.10 is buggy as hell :P

So does harvesting wheat or generating energy. That's why its easier to learn an automation system and implement it as soon as possible. Blood Magic takes effort but there are a few optimal ways to automatically produce LP that are "set it and forget it".
 
Yeah, I know. But when you play on a server, that is small, having auto-spawners and WoS constantly being chunkloaded... people start to shout at you :/
 
You could always try Forbidden Magic. It's a Thaumcraft addon that, when Thaumic Tinkerer and Blood Magic are installed, adds a blood orb that can hold 70 million LP :D

That has nothing to do with the mod or its mechanics. I humbly submit that all of your precious statements are moot. 8-)8-)8-)
