I made a pretty cool building made out of pillar quartz, quartz blocks, sandy blocks (railcraft), lapis blocks, abyssal stone (railcraft), sandstone, and stone brick. The catch however, is that it is a CONE!!!!
I understand this is not a perfect cone, so don't get me wrong, but this is my best attempt, and besides, it's better than a lame old box design. (not hating on dire)
After looking through these pictures, PLEASE share your opinion with me and other viewers because I would like to know what I could do to be better. Thank you for your time. ENJOY!

the best builds merge form and functionality.. and the fact you built this in creative mode flat land pretty much destroys any claim you have of it being "awesome"
That's not to say awesome things can't be made in creative flat worlds... but this sorta isn't one of them. Sorry.

Hey, I just popped in to fix your spoiler problem, its a problem with changing fonts around spoilers
to fix it, edit your post, delete everything, click on the symbol in the top right with two A's labelled use BBCode Editor and paste exactly the following everything and it should work:

It would be a little extreme to gather 10,000 quartz, wouldn't it? And I could easily world edit some terrain in

But that's the exact thing that makes builds like this done in survival fantastic
That you managed somehow to gather 10,000 quartz.

It's not all that hard.

Supply enough Power and an MFR laser (or 64 - looking at you trunks...) will make 10.000 quartz in no-time.

In fact it will probbaly take long enough to build that tower that you would get back the 10,000 quartz it took to build via laser.
You could then use MFFS 3 custom field, and field stabiliser modules to accurately reproduce perfect copies of this tower.
This will take yet more power though.

Or you could fortune mine in the nether. A Tinker's hammer with Fortune three should see you reaching that in only a day or two.

In B4 Conterthread "Why do people always build cones". Cones are only a step up from cylinders which are only a step up from boxes.
As for N-quartz you really do find a lot of it if you actively mine the nether.

Besides the fact that it's on creative with flat terrain it's not all that great. It has some potential though. I would suggest you work on adding more definition to your builds. Using a larger variety of blocks, stairs, fences, glass, miniblocks (the mod name escapes me right now), slabs, and different colored blocks. It doesn't seem very functional, and it looks very flat in general much like the landscape.

Also, that floor is driving my OCD crazy, you should fix that.

Thank you for the comments, but what's wrong with the floor? Checkerboard pattern?

It's that it appears to be more than six colors of wood. Checkerboard is two, one light, one dark. The multiple block colors are confusing to the eye. And it draws attention away from the rest of the space.

I can see where you tried to have a cross like design with the checkerboard and that's fine, but it looks like there isn't a pattern with color at all. I'm not sure if that's lighting, but it looks like you used a ton of different colored blocks and just threw them down. Even if you do choose several colors, there should be an easily distinguishable pattern.

I think it's lighting, it is sandy and sandstone blocks for the checkers with a star of quartz

Familiar with trulli houses, in the heel of the Italian boot? They're small but that is the first thing that came to mind when I saw the pic.

You should change the thread title to: cone (built in creative)
You'll see that not as many people will look at the thread because building in creative is boring. Feel free to do it but don't come brag to us as you have really not put a hole lot of work into it. The biggest of builds are often built in survival as it really is a huge accomplishment for the builder to have done it all, including collecting the resources. An amazing example of such a feat would have to be Saice's season two of resonant rise. He's done all of that in survival and had worked really hard to get the items. Do u have any idea how much rotten flesh be has gone through to get all of the blood stained stone? When he finishes that build I'm sure he will be incredibly proud of himself and I'm sure the community will like it a hole lot more than your not so awesome cone that you built in creative.

Edit: for those of you that didnt see, the thread was titled Awesome Cone before he changed it to cone in minecraft

Ive gotten close to that I had something like 1.2K stacks of it in the last world I was working in and I collect almost all my ore by hand.
