Besides, he's been in talks with whomever is behind Minetweaker about some recipe access.

So? I really fail to see how this is a problem. Also, including them in a pack being a problem? I dunno about you, but I had only a few minor problems tacking on Reika's mod to my private Infinity instance. All I had to do was change some potion and biome IDs to prevent conflicts, something even a neophyte pack maker should be able to do with ease.

Oh, and that banner folks like to complain about? Again, not a problem for even the most inexperienced pack author.

B:"Agressive Update Notification"=false, in DragonAPI.cfg. Its literally the first value in the config file. I'm several versions behind (running v5c while I think Reika's up to v6c or something), and I haven't seen hide nor hair of the Banner of Devastation.

Again, for anyone who does more than slap some crap together and call it a "mod pack," such things are absolutely trivial. No MineTweaker, no confusing naming conventions, just plain-as-day English in a config file anyone can edit with a handful of minutes and Notepad. Reika's T's-and-C's are also absolutely trivial to adhere to for anyone with a hint of intelligence and integrity. All you have to do is not mess with his mod outside configs and basically not be a belligerent knobend. If you have a problem adhering to 'em, then honestly, I think you're the one with the problem, not Reika.
I concede I was ignorant bout such things, but there was probably a way of saying the same thing without calling people "belligerent knobends". But on further inspection, no reika's mods aren't specifically a problem. I take back all I said about that.

Bile up to your knees. It's a surprising touchy subject, like an infected cut.

And what was the outcome.

The argument didn't really go any where. The basic conclusion was roughly that while rekia can do what ever he wants to his mod no one has to like it.
That's the PG sanitized for your protection result. Mind you. It didn't get to bad but it wasn't a totally mature discussion.

Hehe! I'm happy - Resurrection's coming back. People say there's no point due to thermal expansion? I don't care, I'll just force my way through with gregtech and enjoy the journey. If people can't have the self control to not use the tempting parts of other mods to bipass it, then they can go play creative or bloodmagic or something of the sort. People are being awfully cynical in the comments, but I'm just happy and excited. Thanks FTB team.

You're prolly right with regards to my approach. You gotta admit, though, Reika's mods do have an unfortunate tendency to draw out the ignorant and the belligerent like moths to a flame. His wall of shame has the most frightening collection of stupidity this side of FSTDT.

I'm going to disagree as I've seen it pretty much everywhere. He's the only one I've seen build a wall of shame for it.

Simple, change the recipe to something impossible, like an end portal.
EDIT:Also change the config its at the top even in the config, AGGRESSIVE UPDATES

Agressive Update Notification does not disable the update notifications! Just makes them non-aggressive... That is, instead of annoying you the right second a new version is released it annoys you only if the new version is two weeks old or if a new major version was released but it still annoys you! So you cant really disable it in the configs! You can use the "checker" command to disable the checking of a specific mod but... it doenst disable checking for updates for that mod. It disables warnings for that version of that mod. If Reika releases a new version for the mod you disabled the checker, you get a new warning and need to disable it again. So... yeah... not possible to disable the warnings. And dont even tell me its a WIP feature. If it is, it should not be released to the public since its annoying. Only he and his acolytes dont realise how stupid and annoying it is!! On a real life work, people get fired for way less.

I concede I was ignorant bout such things, but there was probably a way of saying the same thing without calling people "belligerent knobends". But on further inspection, no reika's mods aren't specifically a problem. I take back all I said about that.
Dont feel bad for not knowing since its not your fault since there is not documentation about this and the update notification setting is not even on each mod config file as is a common practice. Its on the DragonAPI config file... And.... it doenst work.

Again, Reika made something different because he thinks his way his better(tip: its not), doesnt give any official documentation about a system that would annoy people(what I know comes from Reika replys on reddit) and doesnt give a f**c about the others opinions. And if the first two are the reason why there is a shitstorm on reddit at the moment, the last one is why he his not loved by pack makers. He creates/balances his mods in the context of being the only mods in the game and forces players to play the way he envisions the game. The thing is, his mods are not the only ones and he doesnt allow tweaking so they can be properly balanced for a themed pack. And its a sandbox game, mods are suppose to give content to the game, not to restrict game mechanics and game style to what he thinks his the right way of playing. If I want to tweak/change recipe/disable something in his mod, I should be able to. The days of kitchen sink unbalanced mod packs are gone. Monster packs and like that are gone since now you dont have ID conflicts and all the nightmares it come from them. You want your unbalanced pack, you just make it yourself. Now is the time of HQM/MineTweaker, where packs have a theme, a lore, a story, mods are balanced to work together and give a progression that fits the pack, not the mod. If your mod does not evolve to this new way of moding, it will be left out in the shelf! And that is one of the reasons you dont see many Reika mods in packs.

Let the Reika acolytes come with the pitch forks....
