It was compltetly blown out of porpotion by some immature parts of some fan bases.
If there's one thing most folks who play video games online learn, it's that age has precious little bearing on maturity. I've met ten year old adults and forty year old children many times over. Experience is another matter entirely of course, but maturity? Pah. No relation to age whatsoever in my experience!

Luckily I was smart enough to look into it more and discover my error (yeah, that is why I didn't report it. A lack of a ftb account had nothing to do with it

Likely the ability to make it from farm products. Remember the stories I told of getting banned from servers because of redstone farms? Too many players think unless the player is directly involved in the acquisition of resources, it is cheating.
People who do not like fully automated stuff in vanilla will hate my vanilla world, current project is automating the organization and storage of materials mostly gathered through automation. Then I will try to automate the gathering of sand from a desert
