I am looking for something that is similar to the fabricator from xycraft for 1.5.2 in that it can automatically craft and store the output in it's own inventory. I have searched quite a bit and haven't found anything that meets my requirements. I wouldn't mind downloading another mod if I have to so any suggestions would be nice. Thanks :)

Applied Energistics crafts faster and has it's own storage and once setup correctly is the most powerful crafting system in modded MC today.

A project table. Set up the recipe, then have some BC pipes or something pipe out the output back into the bottom part of the project table.

OP is on 1.5.2, so that's kind of out of the question.

I second Immibis Tubestuff and the Autocrafting Table MKII. Uses ghost blocks in the recipe and can craft up to 64 of something with a button press. Mind you, it's no fabricator in of that it can't automatically pull the needed mats from other chests or fabricators, so really, you're better of using a MAC from AE.

The autocrafting table mk.2 does have a large inventory of its own though and its just as fast as the fabricator so long as its set to stack mode. I have only automated strings of these tables with redpower in the past but I think they do work with buildcraft pipes. Having said that AE is very powerful especially for projects with a lot of crafting. Even though you only ever have to make one I still found AE worthwhile to make a gravichestplate

NEI shift-qmark-clicking combined with Applied Energistics's crafting terminal... it pretty powerful in 1.5.2.

Did you pump items out through the top, and in through any of the other sides? If not, there's your problem.

What are your requirements other than "must store output items in its own inventory"?

You could also try the Liquicrafter from Minefactory Reloaded (which crafts once upon receiving a redstone pulse- so you'll need a timer of some sort), or the Cyclic Assembler from Thermal Expansion (which probably has the advantage that it can auto-eject items if needed; but I still don't know how it works).

[Edit] Darn, ninja'd... [/edit]

There's also Factorization's autocrafting chain, although there's probably a reason that it's not used often. For one, it eats paper; second, you need a different block for each different material and another to actually make the item. It is, however, the only technology I know of that can create a universal autocrafting system- although I don't know how you could do it without a Redpower Sortron or a bunch of CC computers with Interactive Sorters linked together.

That doesn't work either :( Specifically, I am try to turn 1 stack of cobble into a piece of redstone via the alkahest. Since the output is the alkahest, the restone gets dumped into your inventory. So the fabricator's slot acted like an inventory and it did exactly what I wanted. Nothing seems to be working besides that

Unfortunately, that doesn't work either :(

You can definitely do alkahest stuff with Applied Energistics. Just tell it how to craft redstone using cobble and alkahest, and it'll do the rest. It handles items with durability and saved nbtdata just fine.

Really? Wow, that would be amazing. I am gonna go give that a try :) Hopefully, it works
