Well I was kinda bummed about the Brain in the jar nerf and it only holding 30 levels now. I was just looking at the wiki for Misc Peripherals and seen that there is a XP Turtle. Its a Turtle that can store Xp and Enchant items!

I'm Not sure how much XP it can store as I have not tested it much but It def stores more then 30 levels. I was kinda debating posting this as I don't want these to get nerfed now.

Has anyone used these before? If so lets see some pictures of your set up.

Heres a video I just made with my set up and testing the Xp turtle.. Theres a section where I fail to figure out how to enchant with it but figure it out later in the video lol..

Also Once you go into the Lua prompt of the turtle how do you get out of it without breaking the turtle so I can run programs again? I'm a complete computer craft newb.

I'm too lazy to post pictures, but when they came out, I figured I can run a lvl 30 enchanted book farm with the turtles. I did that, but couldn't sort the books, which meant that a lot of storage space and manual sorting was necessary, so I didn't use it much. Then someone else figured that you can sort the different enchantments with barrels... so I could turn my mobfarm into an infinite enchanted book farm. I use it ever since then in my SSP world.

You exit lua with exit().

Ahh thank you.. Yah Im just hoping this doesnt get nerfed now if so I might not update lol.. I don't know how long Xp turtle have been around but im glad i found it.

I really want to get into computer craft alot more. There just seems to be sooo much you can do with computer craft, I just need to learn how to use them and how to program in lua I guess.

Anyone have any good videos on computercraft I could use to learn?

Thanks

Be nice if the brain in the jar would still absorb the xp, but destroy it over 30 levels. Once you have a farm, you are not really concerned about wasted xp/resources, but more about lag. The brain not functioning after 30 levels just adds lag.
TC could also introduce ways of researching and building stronger/better brains in jars too

Thanks those were the exact kind of videos I was looking for. The videos I seen before didn't really explain thing in enough detail. Sethblings videos on computercraft are really good so far def helping me out.

I'm excited to get into computercraft many people have already been there and done that with computer craft but I havn't had a chance to use it much so I'm looking foward to experimenting with it. There just seems to be so many possibilities with computercraft its awesome. With the Misc Peripherals addon its even better.

I want to have a computer room set up in my base now. I only seen seths first video in the series so far hopefully he goes over disks and how to actually save programs to a disk to use on other computers.

Disks are fine if you really want to copy stuff in-game, but there are easier ways to do it. In SSP your programs are located in your minecraft\saves\WorldName\computer\ComputerNumber folder and you can just copy the file into the folder of the other computer, and you're done. You can also edit your programs outside of the game with notepad++ for example.

You can also use pastebin to transfer your programs around. You might need to enable the "http" API in the computercraft config file for that.

Another thing you can in SSP to make CC programs easier to use/share is to make a computercraft folder in the mods folder.
Example:
FTB\MindCrack\minecraft\mods\computercraft\lua\rom\programs\ -- programs here will show up on all turtles and computers
FTB\MindCrack\minecraft\mods\computercraft\lua\rom\programs\turtle -- programs here will show up on all turtles

Still good to label turtles to save their fuel level, but if you put your scripts in the mod folder you can manage your programs globally.

Just make sure to save them somewhere else on your drive as well as updates tend to clean the mods folder out.
