I downloaded the mindcrack for version 1.4.7, well in my FTB console it tells me that it detects version 1.4.6. i did a clean install of minecraft and made sure it was 1.4.7, and it still said it detects version 1.4.6, and it won't load, help please.

FTB has a separate install folder to vanilla Minecraft.

Go into the launcher, and on the options tab, go to the folder it says next to Install Folder....
Back up the Mindcrack folder, then delete it.

If this doesn't work, post a complete console log to pastebin.com and provide the link.

I hope this does not break any rules here... But I had this problem before, so I fiddled around and got a pack for my users to use that works.

Pretty much delete your mindcrack folder and place the one that is in this zip there and works great. (heard a few users got the popup to update but just click no and works fine)

Ok. Let's start from the begining of the to-do list.

Uninstall all your java and restart your computer.

Install java 7u21.

Repost another pastebin if you coninue having problems.

Wrong version of java can result in download failures Errors? (Actually asking, I have no idea.)

"[16:46:43] [ERROR] ErrorUtils.tossError:26: Error downloading modpack!!!"

I was getting a similar error yet using 1.7u21 .
Hence why I took the few minutes to take an old MC jar and manually add it in. Seemed to work fine.

Older versions of any language can cause problems, especially with java. Yet this is the general place most of us start when we do tech support if we see in the log files that you are not using the most current version. You would be quite surprised how often this simple action fixes issues.

That does break quite a few rules, you have just violated Mojang and most of the mod dev's terms of use. Can't host an alternate download of their property, and it also allows people to play Minecraft without buying an account.

I didn't even pay attention to the link, I thought he pulled it from the launcher or something. Otherwise I would have said something.

I removed the link. I would prefer not to be breaking any of the said rules. Please remove the link in your quote as well. I will be taking it down off my server momentarily.

-- Edit --

I am not quite sure how it allows users to play the game without buying an account? It has *no* account data inside the folder, and the file, was taken right from creeperrepo, with one file changed. (Also note, I grabbed the file even before I inputted my username and password into the launcher, so the file was accessible to anyone as clearly as the link - Just stating, as by your words it seems to be a problem)

I was not aware that making a mirror for the files was against the rules. Sorry for the link.

Not your fault just because you weren't aware, that's the point of learning :p
I'll take it out of my quote as well.
