I don't see any value here. Vechs has shown you can make a variety of terrifying monsters without resorting to unique models. 1.6 offers other interesting resource-pack-centric options as well. Don't include a mod just to poach some mobs. Resource packs let you set custom mob models, as I read the docs. So do that instead.
That would be so cool, especially with a custom map. Too bad most of the mods won't be updated to 1.6 for some time :(.

I have thought about how good of an idea this is on multiple occasions, though I've never actioned on it because A: I have absolutely no idea how to make a map and B: IC2 is my favourite mod. Quantum armour might make it slightly easy.

A good mod for this might be Xeno's reliquary: a bunch of cool stuff that isn't totally OP (though resistance/fire resistance combo potions might make things a bit too easy).

Another thing: are there any mods that add armour that isn't totally OP? I can't think of any, besides twilight forest armours.

Hey, this just gave me a great idea! Adding a few twilight forest mobs into the mix for a new challenge! (Assuming you're actually making a map, and not just adding mods to an existing one).

I just don't trust the stability of command blocks, and I never really saw the point in them, other than as teleporters, when you have perfectly legitimate methods of doing everything it does anyways.
There are some interesting things you can do with them -- switching on and off mob spawning when an area demands it or to trick players into not dropping torches, adding checkpoint-like behavior, WirelessRedstone-like behavior without involving Wireless Redstone, simple announcements, or even fire/rain judo -- but they're probably not the most relevant thing for most builds.
Or instead of command blocks you could use DimDoors. Not sure if you can disable the crafting for dimdoors...
You can, and it's probably the most map-maker friendly option for user teleportation as a result. Still potential issues if people /break/ the doors, though.

Not likely thematically appropriate for Shneeky's use, though.

Thaumium Armor (albeit permission-restricted) and Mekanism's various armor sets are pretty decent, but not terribly strong. Alternatively, MMMPowerSuits, either with no Emeralds or with the Tinker Station disabled, can be a lot more easily balanced.

True but you could combat this by giving the player a few spare doors since those doors would be fairly useless on there own. Or just be all sucks to do you sorry no extra special reward for door breakers.

Thaumcraft would be a great addition. Warded stone is more visually appealing than bedrock. Having unbreakable doors that have their own keys would be amazing. Also areas with dark nodes would be nifty.

True, but there are permission issues here. I might be able to work around that by making a way for users to download it separately, however that would be kind of kludgy, and if they DON'T, then there's all kinds of bad things that happen.

Well you know we're including Thaumcraft legally but I've never once gotten ahold of Azinor. So don't limit yourself to just FTB if they can't support what you want.

Still if you can, host it on FTB. FTB has a long history of challenge maps.

I will be exploring the ATLauncher after I've finished my move next week. I may be moving ShneekeyCraft to the ATLauncher, if it turns out to be as good as I think it will be.

The fact that EVERY update is a delta update is a huge deal for a lot of people. Given FTB's heavy UK+European bias, I am really surprised they don't do that more.

Yea... that would be a big deal for most packs. Perhaps not quite as much for ShneekeyCraft since it's such a small mod pack anyways, but it's still a performance boost.

I'm more excited about being able to push updates more quickly to fix bugs that crop up rapidly and provide updates to my users for a more enhanced environment sooner.
