If we have learned something about other releases and since 1.5 is already out i will throw a wild guess and say that the pack will be updated as soon as all the mods are migrated to 1.5
You can follow the state of the updates here.

It could be months before all the mods are updated. But at this point there probably won't be any further 1.4.7 updates from any of the mods. So hopefully they will release one more update soon, then we will probably have to wait a long time

I hope they don't add it...It leaks memory and my world crashes then I have to take it out... It's pointless. I mean it's a good mod but pointless to have if all it's gonna do is kill my world

The newst version should have fixed the world leak. I believe there is a thread here that shows most of the change logs.

All Elo did was comment she was back to coding in her spare time. No promises of updates by a specific date. :p

Zoom out extra far to put the full complexity of RP2 into perspective for all the things she has to keep track of for even a bugfix patch. She has not even utilized RP2 rubber trees or tungsten ore yet, let alone seen any new tools like the charging bench suggests are down the road. We have a long way to go. :)
but the problem being is that she won't let anybody help her in bug fixing which slows the whole process down, I'm sure there is plenty of people ready to help her

Actually, spreading your development team normally increases productivity greatly, which is why the vast majority of projects are not done by single programmers, but by teams.

Her issue is more likely an issue of control, which is fairly common in hobbyist programmers.
Exactly. Transitioning from a single programmer to a team can have long term gains but will definitely have short term losses.

Surely you're exaggerating, by at least 20%.
I don't see what the big deal is though. I've just started a new Ultimate world and am in no hurry to upgrade.
[edit] Hang on, this is a Mystcraft thread. Why are we talking about RP2?
Um, the sooner we get the Mystcraft upgrade the better, as I'm not going to bother using it until then. Yes there's a work around but it's too much trouble given all the other stuff I can do instead.

The 1.4 RP2 update was around twice that length in coming, so my estimate was fairly conservative.

And in two to three months, when you want to try all of the new awesome mods for 1.5, and.... Still no RP2?

Indeed, and it'll be even better when MystCraft starts to REALLY make the art of writing complicated/difficult/fun.

Are you sure of your numbers? 1.4 was out in mid October. 20% less than your 5 months is 4 months, and twice that gives us around 8 months. If RP2 updated for 1.4 about 8 months after mid October, that comes to mid June. Which means RP2 doesn't actually come out for 1.4 for a few more months.

From what I've seen (i.e. DW20 spotlight) it's already got the complicated and difficult parts done.

Hang on, this is a Mystcraft thread. Why are we talking about RP2?
Um, the sooner we get the Mystcraft upgrade the better, as I'm not going to bother using it until then. Yes there's a work around but it's too much trouble given all the other stuff I can do instead.

We're talking about RP2 because of the worry that the FTB team might wait on pushing updates until all mods are in 1.5-ready status.

Which would kill all hope of us getting the bug fixes for Mystcraft in a timely fashion, since RedPower 2 has only had one update in the last nine months, and the dev has been pretty much completely absent/non-responsive from the public perspective since the beginning of the year (not counting the fourteen minutes she was on Twitter in February).

The logic goes something like this:

1. Updates are on Mondays.
2. The Monday after 1.5 came out, six days after the Mystcraft bug release, we didn't have an update in the Ultimate pack.
3. Six days has been enough time to test other mod updates in the Lite pack.
4. The current version of Myscraft is very clearly broken.
5. They're already starting to talk about what and how many mods are ready for 1.5. [Link]

All this has those of us who rather enjoy Mystcraft worried that they're not going to patch the world generation bugs, the crashing problems, etc, for a long, long time, since we might have to wait for RP2 to update to 1.5 (as they can't update Minecraft.exe until everything is ready).

They might not be bothering to test 1.4.7 stuff any more, focused entirely on 1.5.

Ah, I see.
OTOH, if it's fairly obvious that the mods for 1.5 won't be ready any time soon, they might as well push out the 1.4 updates in the meantime. Seems logical to me anyway.

Which is why we're worried. Mystcraft 0.10.0 is broken and released in the Ultimate pack. There were six days between the 0.10.1 fixes and Monday. So why didn't we get the update? If it's logical to continue updating 1.4.7 stuff... why didn't it happen?

(It might be PAX, but we'd rather ask now than wait a few more weeks and be left wondering.)

In the case of Elo and RP2, indications are it isn't merely a hobby to mod but she views it as a piece of personal evolving artwork. Whether anyone feels this is acceptable or foolish does not really matter in the end because it is entirely up to Eloraam. Perhaps Elo will push 1.5 compatibility before jumping to yet more new features. :)

As far as the OP about mystcraft 0.10.1...I wouldn't worry about the 1.5 update rush. I'm more inclined to think the modpack team would finish updating with final 1.4.7 versions across the board before the shift to 1.5. Remember, 1.5 is probably going to have a 1.5.1 real fast if past experience is any indication!

Actually, I disagree.

It's up to the FTB team. RP2 doesn't have to be included if Eloraam can't keep pace with the rest of the mod makers. If she doesn't have an update out by May, I'd seriously say drop the mod. It would mean that she'd only had a single update over the course of a year. That's not often enough to be considered a worthwhile mod for a modpack.
