The liquicrafter will do the same thing for salt and whatnot with just a redstone signal instead of power. And, in theory, Extra Cells will do just that via the Fluid crafting chamber, however it appears to be bugged in that it consumes the pot/mixing bowl/whatever that Harvestcraft uses.
then use the fresh variant and use the liquicrafter to make those

Lost as always
Liquicraft requires a redstone *pulse*, not a constant redstone signal, to run. Which means I will then need to set up a Redstone Clock (or use a PRC). That can get pretty taxing on the server...

Yep, given the workaround Ratchet provided, the Extra Cells Fluid crafting chamber is definitely the way to go.

Also, question: Is there a good way to automate the making of things like salt or fresh water/milk that is nothing more than cycling items through crafting squares? Without using a dozen Cyclic Assemblers, that is. I mean, sure, I could use a Cyclic Assembler, I think it even accepts liquid input and uses the liquid from the tank rather than requiring you to fill the bucket manually, but a Cyclic Assembler also requires power.
It uses 20 RF per craft. That is nothing.

True. You can just stick a survivalist generator onto a cyclic assembler, fill it with excess Saplings/Wood Logs and it'll generate enough power for dozens of cyclic assemblers.

I think the best way to do this is to use two cyclic assemblers for fresh water and fresh milk, and then use the crafting chamber to make things using those items.
Just don't be like me and put an aqueous accumulator next to a cyclic assembler for fresh water next to an ME interface. It'll completely fill your ME storage with fresh water, even if you've got lots of storage.

I prefer a barrel with storage bus to limit the import of such autogeneration
