I meant - on average - what do you get in a weeks operation? I know storms are quite lumpy in their EU income but I wanted to make a decision if I should make one when we switch to 1.5 packs from ultimate
I may just make a separate UU fab and hook it up and wait a few days - it takes a bunch of iridium and I am seriously doubting it comes close to using the mats on solar instead. a stack of UU would take 41 strikes and it would be good to know what the average eu/t is over time
Can't find it anywhere
I'm not sure if you were talking to me (quote me next time so I get an alert by clicking on the reply button under my post), so ignore this post if I am wrong.
But on average, I get very little pure thunderstorms, especially when you're in a desert biome. So I'm going to guess it is about 1 lightning strike from 1-2 hours, per lightning rod. That's very pathetic IMHO relative to solar.
Now, if you do not use mystcraft but still want to use lightning rods, it is still feasible to get a farm going. You need to use a rainmaker machine with iodine capsules to trigger the rain. When it is raining, you can still get lightning strikes, but it is at a 10% rate of a pure regular thunderstorm.
When I did this with 4 lightning rods, and I made it rain once every 30 minutes, I had constant EU flowing to the matter fabricator. I did, however, step down the EU/t so that each lightning rod strike will drain out to 40 minutes. So even though it was just regular rain, with 4 rods, I had a chance to get up to 4 strikes for the 10 minutes, on average, that the rain lasted. If you have more lightning rods, the more profitable this technique becomes. If you can make mass amounts of iodine capsules and make it permanently rain, even better.
Just some suggestions. But definitely do not do 1 lightning rod directly to 1 fabricator. It'll take you forever to get any UU-matter.
I am playing on Gregtech though, where it takes 16 million EU to generate one UU-matter.
