My AE system is 5x5x5. 12 CPU and 15 Pattern pages. I make patterns for everything.
Yeah, this is what I'm aiming for. I felt silly making the sticks pattern, but you realize that it's the more basic, more fundamental recipes that are the most required as patterns.

Plus it's really awesome when you can click something like an MFSU and voila. AE, so expensive but so awesome. I had 10 stacks of both quarts (1.4.7), I am down to 1.5 of each. Guess I'll be doing something non-AE intensive for a while once I finish my ore processing.

I tried recycling cobble (close to ten stacks) and got roughly four pieces of scrap. Waste of fuel. I find dirt gives me a better ratio, even leaves.

Cobble works but you know what doesn't?

Snowballs. And the reason being that you can automatically make them within the IC2 mod itself using a Compressor next to a Pump pumping water. That is in the config for IC2 and Greg wouldn't break an existing config option in IC2 or he would be a bad mod maker. FTB team could add cobblestone among a few other things to the blacklist for recycleable items. The whole scrap mechanic is kind of stupid in a sense, though, and Greg has nerfed it a lot while he did add his own stuff to the scrapboxes before that. As for amplifier in UUM creation, GT has added other options so scrap is not needed (and it never was technically but people opted to use it due to "efficiency").

well you kinda do need to use "amplifier"(its not really an amplifier in this case) with matter fab. its kinda strange that he didnt completely nerfed cobble scrap generation(cuz TE is mortal enemy, duh...), but instead choose to nerf snowballs... its really unexpected for me

Eh well, snowballs are in the config even in just default IC2. In the context where you don't have any other mods it makes some sense but it's still kind of weird as eggs and such still work and are even cheaper to produce.

But if cobble does get blacklisted watch them ignore slabs and then you just have to autocraft the cobble into slabs which actually doubles the number of items so it makes sense to do in the first place.

Just recycle the cobble then recycle the scrap that are coming, and then recycle the scrap coming for the scrap, and do this with 10 recyclers & use pipes.

I'm probably really crazy. I just use cobble to build things.

And thanks for the silly necro @stoneminer

Well, since someone already necro'd the thread...I guess I'll go ahead and chime in...

am I the only one who hates to void "anything" and use DSU's to store exessive amounts that I'll never use but still don't want to get rid of?
I do it as well... Except for things which do little more the clutter my storage(such as items with a max stack size of 1 that don't serve much use and are easy to get, or like half of the BoP flowers), but if I can recycle it in some way(perhaps with IC2 or even RC for some things), I'll keep it until I have a recycling system set up, unless it's something as utterly useless and simple to get as some of the BoP flowers.

1) DSU for storage so AE doesn't get junked up and I don't have a wall of barrels.
2) octuple-compressed stone. then into a DSU. if you manage to fill this up. . . you need to turn off your automatic cobble factory and/or check that your quarry isn't in an infinite loop.
3) recycler-scrap-UUmatter-goodies.
4) singularity
5) infinite lava!
6) void pipe

I found that you can't recycle cobble in GT, but you can turn cobble into RC detectors and then recycle that. It ends up being 64 cobble per scrap instead of 8, but it works.
