So I have no idea what these cave things are I keep running into while strip mining. As long as you're inside the natural formation of the cave you have weakness and mining fatigue 3. No TC4 nodes, no infernal mobs, and not hungry sick or dying. I really have no idea on this one ._.

I know this effect happens when I'm near abyssal stone formations, I've just never researched it. Either way I don't believe it's exclusive to MF2 since I use ResRise

That's actually fairly plausible... I am under an ocean... But I don't get why those random caves would form and get the effect too...

E:

It might be a natural gas pocket, from Mariculture.
Aha I bet this is it.

Place some sort of tank next to an air pump (inside a gas pocket). Then either power the pump with RF, or right click it. This will suck up the air around it, and place it inside the tank. You can then bottle up the gas by right clicking the tank, or however the tank needs to you get at the fluid).

I tried putting an air pump under water, put a tank next to it and then powered it up with a leadstone energy cell, but nothing happened

That's what this topic is about, and I just told you, you need to be in a cave with the natural gas :p
