I run a FTB Monster server, and last FTB Unleashed server I had a Multifarm from forestry, and it was a lot of work to set up but worked well.
I was thinking about using more Minefactory Reloaded stuff this time like its autofarm machines.

What mod do you guys use to autofarm?

Depends what i'm farming.

I'm still very attached to my multifarms, but if I want to farm berries or any of the more up-to-date fruity stuff i'll use MFR

tc4 golems, although you do get some nice secondary outputs from the sludge with mfr farms. Steve's carts aren't too bad either, but do require maintenance until you can make the galgadorian stuff.

Golems are my method of choice, but depending on the situation, Steve's carts come in a close second.

Oh yeah I forgot about golems. I assume the wood golem's pathing is less derpy than it was in 1.5.2?

So many times my wood golem would disappear from the farm and i'd have to track it down in the labyrinth of pipes and cables under my base.

They still fixate on any item entity within about 20 blocks. If they can't get to it, they will sit and stare until the item despawns or is collected in another manner. If they can find a way to pathfind to it, they almost always get stuck pathfinding back home. Luckily, there are now blocks in tc4 to pen in the golems.

It's been either Vanilla or Forestry multi-farms depending on my needs and only now starting to experiment with MFR. So far I am liking the results.

Well I should have also stated I was avoiding magic for now, like thaumcraft, blood magic. I maaaaay dabble with magic crops. 1 of my friends is doing nothing but magic, and im doing nothing but science and tech, like Samsung vs Sauron.

I will check out thaumcraft stuff in time, right now i know very little about it.

Magic Crops adds crops, I don't think it adds a way to automatically farm, however.

Right, i just ment I may plant some to grow abnormal stuff.

Originally I was trying to decide between another multifarm with forestry, or an autofarm with MFR. But I know nothing about rotarycraft really, or other mods.
Rotarycraft sounds cool, just really complicated, which is why I was getting you guys's feedback on the other mods takes.

I probably just need to watch like a 2 hour video on rotarycraft and just start progressing through the whole modpack anyway.

With how fast things are being updated and changed, it's best to just go to a test world and read the handbook added by RotaryCraft and then play around with everything.

Tbh I mix 3 different mods in my farms, except when they are not compatible to particularly difficult plants..

MFR for planting and harvesting if its crops, thaumcraft golems to harvest trees.
Thaumcraft lamp of growth is always there.
Xeno's lilipads are my main source of growth acceleration, until i get to late game and start making lamps of growth and blood magic rituals.
And railcraft for the transportation to the main storage, i've found out its less laggy and less power consuming to just have a cart going on in a rail 24/7 picking up the items and getting them to the storage room instead of running a long looooong cable to all my farms :D
