I cant live without all the aumcrft addons or a minimap myself, my favorite mid is the thaumic family
Hm, I played without a minimap for a long time, and honestly, with Twilight Forest's Magic Maps I'm fine without one. I also turn them off when I'm not actively staring at it. I think it's one of those things that you think you can't live without, but then you end up getting used to it, but that's probably just me.

Along with thermal expansion and Thaumcraft, I have to add Highlands. Its my favorite biome mod, I dont use any others. Why? Mainly because of the tree design. Whenever Ive loaded up a BOP world it looks too bright and garish for my tastes.

I thought long and hard about this .... still the only mod I can't imagine living without (NEI aside) is still Thermal Expansion.

A minimap was the first mod I ever installed way back when. Then Timber. Good times

I meant it to be a joke :p with all the mods I stated together. My only mod i cannot play without is thaumcraft, minimaps are helpful, but not required

My solar panels had a good giggle at that.

Well at least an aqueous accumulator providing infinite fuel would need engines to burn it ... It's a shame that for large scale power production, you generally can't beat solars

I don't always use solars, but when I do it has to be Advanced Solars. I mean the upper end of that mod gets crazy expensive, but for a single block that can power a moderate sized base all by itself you'd expect a bit of a pricetag.

Mekanism solars are pretty though. Last time I played voltz I had a base built into the side of a mountain, underneath that I had a big plateau of solar arrays glinting up at me. It was lovely :)

...Unless I'm getting some brine, then yeah, I'll use Mek Advanced Solars.

The cutoff for deadweight classes is anything below rogue tier, or high tier, if you use the new terms. The Same Game test showed this long ago. Heck, even the Rogue is only usable because of "Use Magical Device". Fighters can be competitive even beyond level 5 if you specialize, and even at levels 15-20 if you hyper-specialize... but yeah, no point crying over how the fighter is weak in 3.5 ed since anyone who actually knows how the Same Game test works(even roughly) knows that a fighter is deadweight.

Now, if you want to include the "Tome of Battle: Book of Nine Swords" content into the definition of "Non-Mage"...

One of the many reasons I actually preferred the mechanical refinements of 4E. 3.5 became this bizarre cops-and-robbers optimization game. 4e was all about building parties that worked, not extreme characters. Party performance was exponentially more powerful than any single character's performance. While perhaps not true to literature like DragonLance and the like, it made for better gaming.[DOUBLEPOST=1397174403][/DOUBLEPOST]
I would have to say resonant rise. Its the one mod I ABSOLOUTLY can't live without.

I cannot imagine playing SMP in a pack any smaller. :)

That said, SSP is a totally different game.
