Might as well post mine

Intel i5-4590 3.3Ghz quad-core
AMD 380 4gb clocked at 985 mhz (haven't gotten around to overclocking it)
8gb ddr3-1333mhz
1TB harddrive
Windows 7 (also haven't gotten around to setting up dualboot with ubuntu)

And with the case, motherboard, psu, and monitor all of this cost....more than I like to think about

Don't get too hopeful with overclocks as far as GPU goes. Tonga(the architecture the r9 380 is based on) doesn't OC very well. Should be able to hit at least 1050 though.

I know, the 380 overclocks even worse when compared to a 285 as it is basically a already slightly overclocked 285. I'm just hoping to get the 5-7 frames I need to average 60fps in the metro last light benchmark, plus it is pretty much free performance so might as well try.

I noticed higher frames in furmark overcoming memory alone. And your right, should've saved up for a 390x

Honestly I should have waited two months to see if rumors at the time about the 380x coming in November where true.:(
As for the 390 and 390x, I can neither afford spending that much on my pc nor justify the cost for my uses.

I just built my new one.

AMD FX-6300 6-Core 3.5
GeForce 750Ti
16GB of 1600mhz RAM
1TB HDD

So far it's run everything I've thrown at it absolutely flawlessly. And that includes Supreme Commander. Which is absolutely awesome.

That's okay, the 380x wasn't nearly as exciting as people hoped. A 280x gets slightly better performance then it.

It's so refreshing finding somebody actually enjoying their AMD cpu, instead of complaining about how they get 10 less frames compared to their friend's i5. I'm glad you are enjoying it!

That's because Tonga(and the GCN architecture as a whole) is pretty memory bandwidth starved. It's why people report seeing sizeable gains by overclocking the HBM on the Furys, despite HBM already being ridiculously fast.

I'm perfectly happy with my 380 though, its never really struggled to play anything. Farcry 3, Skyrim, shadow of mordor, fo4, all play on ultra at 60+ fps, which is good enough. But I don't feel it'll be this good when I throw some newer games at it a year or two from now. Hence why I wish I saved for a 390x, overkill now, but it'll save me from an early upgrade.

Yeah, that's me. I've always had issues, just niggling ones with Intel processors that never crop up with AMD's. Plus the sheer number of calculations you get out of Supreme Commander mean the physical cores seem to be have better. Might just be my bias though. :D

Might as well save a little more and go for the Fury Nano, which just came down to 499.

Well I'm definitely gonna be saving for some upgrades down the line. After Intel 7th or 8th gen come out lol. Skylake isn't worth it it. But once I do upgrade my cpu (and mother board and ram because of it) I'll get a new gpu too, see what AMD releases (rebrands) then.

Most of the next AMD GPUs will not be rebrands. They will be 14nm Polaris chips. Only rebrands I can see is Tonga and mayyyyyybe Hawaii for the lower end cards. But we certainly will not be seeing Tahiti or Pitcairn.

That's good to know. I just saw AMD rebranding older cards alot although I haven't looked into their future plans. The 14nm chip would bring AMD's tdp for their cards alot lower and would raise more competition with nvidia, I'd assume.

Hey, if you ever want to get a hold of a mechanical keyboard for cheap, look into some old PS/2 and AT keyboards. Can often find IBM Model Ms for ~60 dollars on ebay.
