It isn't bad, its just most other mods use rf
By that argument we should kiss goodbye to all individuality and uniqueness, and just have each mod be a clone of each other.

If you don't like complexity and having to use your mind a bit, then just play one of the many other mods that have faceroll mechanics and instant OP rewards. But why does every mod have to follow that standard?

I personally applaud IC2 (and Gregtech for that matter since they are kinda linked) for staying true to their own vision, instead of giving in to trying to being that OP mod of the month that some people like to exploit for some easy resources or whatever.

And no one is making you use IC, and it's very rare to see a modpack these days without RF generation.

And for some people, RF is just way to easy, with overpowered big reactors and generators that run on pink wool.

And i really have no problem with any of it. If you want to have OP generators up and running in 30 minutes, go for it. Its your game, you should enjoy playing it how you like.

Or if you enjoy Gregtech and the grind, you should use Gregtech, because it's your game and you should enjoy how you play.

And if you play a modpack and it doesn't have what you want....well, either shut up and play, or find another pack, because, after all, it was YOU who selected that pack, and you can go find something different :)

Or add the mods you want to your game. Or make up your own modpack.

Diversity in mods is good. Making everything the same is boring as hell.

I think what he meant was transferring RF and EU in the same conduit while keeping them separate, i.e. not converting between them. Applied Energistics can do that to some extent with P2P tunnels.

Doesn't really matter keeping them separate does it? If a cable can take in IC2 or RF, and put out what a machine needs, either RF or IC2, then all of your energy needs should be taken care of.

And another point against the fallacy of "most other mods use RF". If this was valid, then RF would never have happened. When IC2 was king, most mods used EU, or buildcraft joules. But along came thermal expansion and RF, and universal electricity. If we'd have demanded everyone use EU, you wouldn't have gotten RF.

This. This guy gets it. Try RF generation with only TE. You might even complain that it's kinda brutal. But, it's an open API and it's a sandbox. People can and should play how they want to. :)
