What do you wear?

There are a lot of things to put on your person in FTB. There's Quantum Armor, Powersuits, Gravisuits, Robes, Steel, and a whole plethora of other armors. My question is, out of all those, what do you wear? Personally, I alternate between Archmage Robes (Ars Magica) and Powersuits (Modular Power Suits)
 
I usually start of with free armor I find in a new world, otherwise I'll make myself an iron armor set. then I make a nano suit, and quickly upgrade the chestplate to an advanced nano chestplate. then after a while, I move to MPS.
I however do like to create all the armors when I'm endgame
 
I usually go with a powersuit but since my friend decided to ban them on the server we play on since they are a bit overpowered so I'm probably going to get some thaumcraft or iron stuff until I can afford a nano suit and from there I'm getting a quantum suit.
 
What i usually get is: Nothing early game, i dont really ever die xD

MidGame (Before i can get quantum and stuff): Lappack, long fall boots, goggles of revealing

Late game:Lappack/ultimate lappack, quantum everything else

VERY late game:Gravi, quantum everything else.

I still like IC2 :D
 
In my LP in the Community Showcase, I don't have any armor on, although I've got some TC tools. I'm going to be going straight for Modular Powersuits, though, once I can scrape up the copper.

One of the downsides of an ocean biome... the ground starts around Y40, which means copper is about as scarce as diamonds. And I -have- disabled the 'vanilla' recipes in favor of the TE recipes. So wiring requires 6x copper and 3x silver per 8x wiring. So Copper is definitely my bottleneck.
 
Unless I find bronze, steel, or iron armor in loot chests due to world gen I don't make any armor for quite some time. First piece of armor I make is a jetpack, then the advanced jetpack and Nano Armor. Once I get enough Iridium I make myself a full set of quantum armor and carry my advanced jetpack around incase i need to fly. Once I get even more Iridium I make a GraviChest and Ultimate Hybrid Helmet.

In my magic and adventure based modpack, due to all of the huge amounts of mobs (Better Dungeons) I usually have a full set of iron. At the very start I carried around a couple sets of mud armor (BoP). Eventually I am going to make some armor that ThaumCraft provides, once I get enough research done.
 
For some reason I have been very unlucky on the server I play on.
I have died and lost around 2-4 pairs of long fall boots, in addition to a lot of iron tools and armour.
I die... Quite often. I don't know why - build a powersuit helmet chest and legs with full on advanced playing at max, and long fall boots, stepped into a hollow hill...
My game froze.
When it restarted, there was an explosion, a spider noise and then "natnif36 has been pummelled by a slime beetle."
All in the space of 5 seconds.
I spawned at the TF spawn, roughly 1200 metres from my portal home, and starved once trying a straight run back,so the next time was an extended cross-country journey involving killing many passive mobs for their flesh.
A while later, I arrived roughly where I had does, and began looking for my stuff.
"natnif36 was pummelled by a slime beetle".
Fuuuu...
I then had to leave. Not rage quit etc, but genuinely had to leave the Laptop.

One time that particularly annoyed me was when I was assaulted inside my home, do to a design feature planned which I currently cannot afford/be bothered to dig out my underground cavern. Anyways, I died inside my chunkloaded house, and then a few minutes later, as I was going to get my stuff... The server crashed.

I did not know this, however when I arrived at the scene, armed with a stone sword, however neither my drops, nor the several skeletons, pair of angry Zombies nor HUGE blue slime that had killed me were there. For some reason chat was fine - no chat lag and running smoothly. I then tried opening a chest and got an "End of stream" error. Ie the server was dead. I wasn't carrying anything particularly valuable, however I was carrying a bunch of ars spells, and also all my runes (about a stack of each). Also an omniwrench.

Then there was the time I tried using (portal gun) portals on the ground to get back after a long nether mining trip - long fall boots, steel TiC tools and ars flight, in addition to a portal gun that someone had gotten in a loot bag (Poppycocks). I spent a few hours mining, and had my right click portal
Set to my base camp/nether portal, and decided to go home, so I placed my left-click portal and hopped in. Lag, lag, lag, *slurpsoundthatportalsmake*,*slurpurpurpurpurp*, "natnif36 suffocated in a wall".
After that I haven't made armour since, and walk around with a rift blade donated by Kuu, and a bone frying pan...
Amidst my stack of potash apples, of course.

I don't want to spend resources on something that gives me nothing valuable in return, and a suit of armour which would give adequate protection to raid enough hollow hills to pay for itself, wasn't affordable. And I don't like making anything that will be soon obselete. For example non-pick axe wooden tools.
 
95% of the time its iron or steel/bronze parts found in chests, at end its gravisuit & ulti helm, atm playing with 1.5.2 packs mod not really using magic mods.

Playing 152 wgt now off line so its gonna be a long time in iron...
 
I usually start with iron, then when i get my first diamonds i make long fall boots, then later in game i jump to diamond!
After some thaumcraft research i go for thaumium armor and tools that are heavily enchanted, and i stay there until i can make gravi.
As the Modular suits goes i hate it, some people will say that is op, but for me is garbage, only thing i use from that mod is power tool that is enchanted with silk touch and maxed on the pick shovel, and axe
 
I started off with mud Armor just for lulz and went to osmium until I made an mps with diamond plating. I now use an mps (the first one was lost in an explosion) with energy shielding, flight, & radiation shielding. I keep forgetting to add heat shielding. I also have Thaumaturge's robes with Goliath Leggings and Boots of the Traveller. I switch out my Goggles of Revealing quite often as I am a high tech Thaumaturge ;)

A GraviChestPlate
Power Armor Leggings with Sprint (250%), Jump (200%), Swim (100%) and Uphill Asisst with a diamond plate and elite battery
And finally, Long Fall Boots.
