And so the day draws to a close. Glad to see my challengers made it here safely, all twenty two of you. The lynching today was a pretty obv- Wait. There were twenty three. Did someone lose their nerve at the last minute? Mew, Carbon, Bachman, Skeleton... Aha! Strikingwolf didn't make an appearance! LIGHTNING RAINS FROM THE SKY! Nothing can save him now, not even that precious file of Config rules. Shame.

Next on the agenda, you all lynched a figment of your imaginations. Nobody lived a good life.

Finally, my highly competent team has picked their first target. Who will it be? Who's going down? Unfortunately for him, it's Py-

Stop the presses! Is this an opportunity for me to fulfill a wish? Like the Christmas Bunny? Brilliant! Vikestep was suddenly cut off from the network. He was the Magnaflorious Giant Killer Deathbot Bonanza with every ability in the game. I mean Firewall. Same thing.

Night One Summary
  • Strikingwolf was struck down. He was the Config.
  • Nobody was lynched. He was an apparition, a ghost in the night.
  • Vikestep was terminated. He was the Firewall.
  • A new rule was written by a Coder.
[DOUBLEPOST=1413672052][/DOUBLEPOST]Oh, and I almost forgot!

Letters turn. Words meld. A Coder's text appears under the General Rules Section: "All white hats must vote for the person Muse Clio voted for, if Muse Clio havent voted yet. Feel free to vote whatever you want!"

Soo.. this is different. VikeStep didnt have a badass role xD[DOUBLEPOST=1413672421][/DOUBLEPOST]vote Pyure because the mentioning in Vike's last message

I'm sad to say that I don't trust the judgement of a coder on this one. Forcing us all to vote for one person will be suicide. Black Hats can still vote for the same person, so we don't identify them.

So, questions:

1) "Terminated." That's a wolf kill I assume?
2) Do we need to fix the phrasing of that new rule? Followed to the letter, it means we do nothing new at all. We only follow Cleo's voting if Cleo hasn't voted yet.

Just to make things clear, here, there are a couple of ways the rule can be reverted:
  • Coder dies
  • Coder is Rebooted
Until then... enjoy! :)

My money's on Vike getting whacked tonight, assuming he's not a black hat. He's probably the most powerful player in the game excluding roles.
I feel like, if Vike is ever a wolf, we will know by the fact that he doesn't get killed night one.

Correct.

That's exactly what the Coder told me. I believe the intent was this: "Vote for whoever you want until Muse Clio votes. If you haven't voted by then, then you must follow Clio's vote."

Correct.

i believe that's the intent as well. So, godboss, do we follow the code, or do we follow the intent?

I thought the code was pretty clear about it. "All white hats must vote for the person Muse Clio voted for".

Where's your loophole?

The syntax misplaced semicolons for all intents and purposes.

Going by the exact grammar, we only have to vote with muse Clio if muse Clio hasn't already voted. It also explicitly tells me that I can vote for whomever I please, with no preceeding if-clause (grammatically speaking)

I don't see any scenario where Clio's vote can influence my own, because the person who wrote the rule botched the grammar.

Hey, coder;
I am in contact with a Reboot. Could you make contact with me via the Proxy to tell me if my reboot friend can reboot you?

Ah, I see. Good point. Maybe if it was anything other than a Coder, I'd let it slide...

But code does have to be precise. Loophole achieved.
