If you like space better you can buy Civilization Beyond Earth
Whice i would rate a 7/10
+ Space
+ Techtree
- Diversity
- almost no see warfare
Civilization 5 is a great game of all you need, But the base set is in my opinion far but good.
The base game i would rate a 6.5/10
With all expansions a 8.5/10
If you but it at the site i linked. Its the same price
Civ 4 < i never played so i can't tell

No-brainer, just get Civ5. If you can get its expansions for next-to-nothing, go for it, but start with Civ5 vanilla and you'll be fine.
That game has more mods than minecraft too if you bother with that stuff.
And if you like to try out both games for free. Thats also an option i can give you a link to that to.. If you promise to buy the game if you like it ofcourse

I only torrented 1 game in my life and it didn't even work also note that that game is very old.
I also never played any Civ games but I did play alot of rts's back when I was a child for example settlers 2, aoe1 and 2 plus expansions + mythology + battle for middle earth 1 and 2.
Those last games where awesome and I am so sad that battle for middle earth 1 doesn't work on my desktop because of screen resolution stuff. I also lost the disk for number 2.

I know people that have never heard of age of empires. Yes let that sink in for a moment. I believe one of them played/plays starcraft but don't quote me on that.

That's a decent day-end time for me, 10pm. Way better than that 4AM crap we sometimes get.
