That MFR Harvesters work for auto-harvesting IC2 crops? My life; she is complete.

They are a way of getting redstone and iron and gold and other things infinitely, faster. And the breeding system is logical.

I think dave mentioned it in another thread a while back and I basically gave up on my 1.4.7 world and built the same base in 1.5 with IC2 crops replacing planters.

9x9 farm of each material can run quite a few bio-reactors. I even built up in the air over swampland to get the fertility (biome) and air quality bonus (Y 124+).

once you have your perfect seeds, IC2 crops are infinitely faster than bees and it is easy to expand your field to whatever size you want. Bees cannot compete with perfect seeds

The question now is: Do crop react to Xycraft soil like other plants do?

If they do, I can see how it would be greatly beneficial to use that for melons (for the seed oil), because crops do give more melon average, so that would mean more seeds. And that in 1 square instead of 2.

Since xycraft isn't on 1.5 also can't check that.

But melons + pumpkins in crops gives more yield and space savings. When i started the world there was a bug in crops, so I made 9x9 half pumpkin and half melon using just stalks in a checkerboard pattern. This did well, but when crops were fixed I moved to just a 4x4 of melon and another 4x4 of pumpkin.

Good question. I would guess they don't, basing that guess on the fact that most other mod's farming systems don't play nice with Xy soil. Golems won't plant on it, the planters I've tried won't plant on it (Forestry, MFR). Sugar cane works with golems or (old) forestry harvesters though, I'm guessing because it doesn't have to be re-planted after harvest. Bear in mind these guesses are only half-educated.

Comes down to Not whats better. But what the user wants to use. Or choice.. Lots of people on this forum play Multiple games over long period of time.. And I like to try new things myself.. SO doing the same thing over and over is boring..
Think we should try to remember this when we make comments on Forums. :)

Steves carts 1.5.2 works with xysoil :)
Nice are you using 1.5.2? How is the new Steve Carts Wood Cutter now? I already have everything pretty much saved up for the best cutter.. Just curious you interpretation of how well it works?

I think I've read somewhere that MFR also works with XySoil in 1.5. I also didn't know MFR worked with IC2 crops, then again I've never messed around with IC2 crops so there probably is a lot I don't know about them.

o_O they work for IC2 crops? ;D My dreams of an automated terra wart stand for those that are afflicted by Coffee or Beer overdosage are now realized! That's awesome, particulary for the redstone crop, bees are nice, but crops are more easily expandable.....

Well. I'm going to have so many completely full Deep Storage units of hops it won't be relatively close to funny. :D
