I agree with this for the most part, although bonus if you can somehow limit the player to a # of forceloaded chunks at a time.Online only mode chunkloaders are needed in game to allow players to remotely pump (oil/lava) or set up loading parts of their bases whilst they are out mining/exploring. I see nothing wrong with allowing online only mode chunkloaders.
It'd be nice to see dimensional anchors do an "online only" chunk loader, as you can limit chunks a player loads with thatI agree with this for the most part, although bonus if you can somehow limit the player to a # of forceloaded chunks at a time.

Did not know about that config option (never used DA really)... but an easy solution for chunkloading thenImmibis.cfg
# If true, chunkloaders placed by a player will only load chunks while that player is online.
B:chunkloader.requireOnline=false
B:chunkloader.useFuel=false
For mods I don't use? NAH!Yeah but I see there's a lesson to be learnt by this thread, you all need to look at configs more lol
Well TBF if the player is offline I think they should only be allowed 1 chunk, max, loaded. I have nothing against people getting stuff while not online (personally I don't have the time, so I like offline resource gathering) but give a player enough chunks and they will be able to lag the server (especially when you have 20 bases all running complex tasks constantly loaded)I see nothing wrong with chunkloaders in general.
(Players load significantly more chunks (441 to be exact!!) just by being online- I doubt you could get near that with the forced chunks)Its all the crap that goes on in those chunks which causes the lag problems.
Online only may be useful if you want to prevent players from gaining tonnes of resources by leaving it running 24/7
(you may need an anti-AFK thingy)
And then we are back to the online only thingWhich would mean players cramming as much into one chunk as possible.
I've heard that that's significantly worse for performance than the same load spread over a number of chunks.
