The nodes must be within 8 blocks of the wand recharge pedestal. If you are on thaumcraft 4.2, nodes within 6 blocks of each other will bully the smaller nodes and rob aspects. To keep this from happening you will need to keep each node 7 blocks away from the others. 7 blocks is still in range of the wand recharge pedestal. This allows for 8 nodes around the wand recharge pedestal. (Working in 2 dimensions)

One way for us to know what version you are using is to tell us what pack you are using, and it's version number.
In regards to your question, as others have stated, the nodes need to be much closer.
For examples of how to set up your nodes and wand recharging station, I would suggest looking at Direwolf20's youtube channel. He sets up his charging station and moves nodes in one of the earlier episodes of his 1.6.4 series.
Thank you for posting the pic. It made it very easy to trouble shoot this.

You can also setup a really easy system for nodes to merge together with the same mechanic by just doing the same 2x2x2 structure of nodes and having the biggest node where the charger is normally. It will take time, but you can get a bigger node.

Or you can have a room with a radius of 6 from the pedestal. Then bring node after node and fill up that room so it is nothing buts nodes and the pedestal. I would suggest the first nodes you bring are: aer, ordo and perditio as they seem to be the hardest to find. Then ignis, unless you live in/near a desert. Then aqua and terra last, as they are both easy to find nodes, and they are easy to find big too (if you go to the twilight forest, you'll be bound to find a terra node with at least 80 terra in it within 10 minutes of looking, unless you look in a glaciar biome...

Yeah, also a little tip.
Unless you know 100% that you won't be moving your nodes once you place them, make sure you leave enough room so that you can place blocks around them again, should you decide to move them again...
Placing them XXX was the stupidest thing I could have ever done :p X X X is always the best thing to do :p

Maybe people who haven't got blood magic, or don't know how to use it?
#1 rule when suggesting an idea to someone (for me at least) don't assume they have knowledge of other mods, unless the mod is so commonly used that either a) they will already be using it, or b) it wouldn't take the person 5 minutes to get that thing set up

Sorry if it came across as forceful, it wasn't intended as such. I was just making the point that it's not necessarily impossible to move the nodes again if they're placed directly adjacent to one another whilst somewhat trying to avoid the dead serious factual tone I usually employ.

I didn't mean to come off in a bad tone either :p I just try to make sure when recommending something to someone (if a pack hasn't been stated) that anything I say would be doable with only mods I can see visible in screenshots/information given (i.e. I am trying to do X on Y mod pack)
