I really want to play but I can't start and enjoy any pack or world. Mindcrack is missing mods like Mystcraft and EE3, but DW20 is missing Gregtech. If I start anyway, I'm just going to transition to Ultimate when it comes out. Does anyone else have this problem? Every day I come and check for Ultimate so I can play but no such luck :/

I am playing mindcrack while waiting for ultimate. I hear mystcraft is going to be added to it soon and EE3 is in such early stages I'm not too interested yet. I will be playing on ultimate when it releases though.
You can always try adding the mods yourself in the mean time if you need all 3.

I'm running a Mindcrack Pack server on my old trusty Quad Core.. and 2 weeks of massive builds in i'm starting to see some technical limitations from the hardware. Add more dimentions with mistycraft to the mix would get me in trouble i believe. And now, from what i saw in DW20 let's play, EE3 is very.. very ''unfinished''... so i guess i'm not missing out on anything playing just with mindcrack pack.
DW20 is also missing Extra Bees and Twilight Forest. I really hope that the team at least releases a Ultimate Beta, because all the mods are out right now, and the problem is no one pack has them all. I heard in another topic that they are waiting for mods like XyCraft and EE3, but those are out in beta.

The mods missing from Mindcrack (Mystcraft, EE) dont add any terrain gen, so any builds with this pack should transfer across to the Ultimate pack.
I'm using the DW20 pack with mods from MindCrack added in to fill gaps. It's not particularly difficult to combine the two, just make sure to copy the configs for the mods you're borrowing as well.
I think the situation is starting to extend beyond reason. I don't care about MystCraft mechanics. It was good enough to include in the MindCrack pack, just get it in the Ultimate pack and release already. I think we've all done our bit as beta testers while we wait for everything to be "just right". It's time, I think, to stop playing buddy-buddy with the ForgeCraft crew and start making decisions that take into account the hard learned lessons elsewhere in the industry. Namely that people start to get justifiably frustrated when releases get pushed back and then back some more and then back again over stuff that the end user doesn't really care about.

Yeah. All the mods needed are out. All they need to do is put it in a pack... they can update it when it comes out. I just want to play.
There is a reason why the ultimate pack is not out yet.
1. It would be basically just Mindcrack at this point, since they won't add Mystcraft because it is pretty unstable at the moment
2. They want to wait for the pr2 for EE3
3. They might also want to wait for the first useful XyCraft build which might be out very soon.
The point is, what sense would an ultimate pack make if the only difference to an existing pack is a single mod, that is not even barely finished. The other point is that they set them self quality-standards which are not passed by some of the mods yet so they won't put them in the ultimate pack.
