At some point in time, if you open the interface, GT (I presume) is unifying the ingots to IC2. I watched it happen when I opened up my crafting table attached to 2 chests and half my ingots converted automagically. One wierdness solved.
GT has inventory unification (so all ingots [and any item that is "redundant"] of different mods will turn into only one type, usualy GT or IC variation if a special target is not configured) every 6 seconds and as soon an item gets inside a GT machine.

"Wirefire" is the effect where not only the overpowered device explodes, but so does a lot of other devices along the same line even if they are powered correctly. You must be real careful because the IC2 machines will not explode on their own and possibly cover up a mistake that will cause a GT machine to explode. But that's the fun in it to me, making sure to design and build to a "code" of sorts.

I insinuated that's what you meant but yeah, I am now being alot more carefull. :} I haven't played with IC2 in over a year or more so I'm a bit rusty. With the builders wand, it sure is quicker to setup iron tanks now that's for sure. I had made a program for turtles to build tanks for me previously. I'm trying to give in to this stf and not fall back to TE and drink the GT koolaid. If I fubar something completely, I'll probably end up using aromabackup and restore world but that's last resort.

But I'm a klutz, so I'm sure I'll be doing some biblical cataclysms at some point in time. TWICE, TWICE I have made the same mistake in AGskies and yet I didn't learn. I just stopped short at around 90+% to finish it finally but I started thaumcraft, and I repeated the same mistake I did before (and posted on the forums about the first time). I shoved some TNT in some AA's with hammers not checking for levers and boom, there goes half my building. Just quit in disgust after that stupid one. Maybe I'll finish agskies maybe not, who knows. and now I'm here waiting to fully blow up this world.

Speaking of which, I would give anything for some blood magic rituals to remove my feline problem. I think I figured out that if you're in a jungle biome and clearcut all the trees, they have more room to spawn, thus go nuts. it is fun watching them chase creepers around but that gets old.

also whoever said something about chocolate quest being op? I have 2 chests full of armor/weapons from one trip to the nether alone. Loving it :} I won't have to make armor ever....

As far as infernal mobs go, so far no major issues cept one. that one ability where they steal your weapon, I had 1 main sword and in my knapsack, about 2-3 extras that I picked up during the trip. I had a blizz steal all my swords, then my picks and we were over lava so I had to make a platform over lava while avoiding his fireballs and get my crap back from him. that one drives me nuts moreso then the regen one. or creepers throwing potions (whut?)

lastly, from a newbie GT perspective, I don't see you doing this and I could be wrong since maybe I haven't gotten that far, but I think it would be good to address all the ores GT adds in. Seeing that there are so many, you could do an entire line of quests revolving about those ores and what they are for, importance, etc... I actually found 1 iridium and was pretty happy till I looked at what they are used for now and realized that it took one massive MASSIVE mining trip to find a single one. I am not setting up any extra cells stf for a while I guess. I know they probably spawn 1 per chunk so that's going to hurt. Maybe mining lasers will get me more. But I think you could pad alot of quests doing that alone if you know gt that well, etc...

time to leave bronze age. yay. <boom>[DOUBLEPOST=1405069404][/DOUBLEPOST]
There is a way to limit reward bags and many have been. I have if I remember correctly limited the sword and flint hoe to either 5 or 10
tell me man, how many S&S's am I going to get huh? Lemme know your positional coordinates so I can get an asteroid to fall on your location and we'll have a nice long discussion afterwards about broken bones ...... :p

that's cool and all, but it's not just gt machines. I've steered clear of the bronze 'poke me in the eyes with pointy sticks' crafting station for fear of quests not turning in, so sticking with TC crafting stations with 2 chests hooked up and I just now saw my IC2 lead turned into gregtech. to be fair, unification is something I've been looking to see at some point in time and I'm happy with this as long as it doesn't not use oredict and I am forced down GT tree with an ingot I created in TC or something. haven't seen that yet but it was wierd for sure. it was surely question your sanity time there.

the obsidian based pick you 'make' for that last tier then 'on your own' quest, is ummm wrong path. It should be alumite. I always skip obsidian (cept for reinforced using middle part) and go straight to alumite (aluminum x 2.5, iron x 1, obsidian x 1). The durability ramps up alongside bronze, etc... and you still have to use the wither skel skull which is just as hard getting as the enderman one. even with cleaver + beheading x 3.

Otherwise, you go from about 250+ durability down to 50 instead of 280+.

also, let's get high? colorado much? :}

in ME baby steps, the 1k storage doesn't accept. I had to resort to NEI'ing one in but I made 2 separate ones and both had same results.

Was the ability to craft compressed versions in the electric crafting table disabled? It recognizes it but won't let me pull out the crafted item.

I'm a doof, forgot it needs power.

Anyone else seeing that TE3 machines (furnace and pulverizer) don't respond to redstone signal?
I just tested the pulverizer and it correctly registered a lever placed in front of it.

So it's been like year or more since I played railcraft but one thing I do remember was if you stacked iron tanks on top of each other and put valve's in same position top/bottom, liquid would flow from one to the one below it using those same valves. I put 5 in an X pattern like I used to but it's only using the one in the middle and the top one is now filling with steam and the one below is staying at a single rate thus, not really helping things. Was this a change in the last year or so? I guess I should have built them side by side and extracted from all of them...

annnnnnd..... now I'm stuck. 16k storage isn't recognized being crafted even tho I've been solely using the TC crafting bench.
I changed the recipe for a few of these that may be the reason I will look into it. As for the Railcraft thing I have no idea if it changed in the last year or not

@DoomSquirter You might want to tune down the spamming a bit and edit (add to) your old threads if you've something new to say ... please.
If you notice quest-related bugs, use the edit-mode-book, manually complete the quest and leave a notice here (in your old thread if you were the last one posting) and go on. @Zodsmar is on it. ;)

Btw. ... am I the only one having serious performance problems with this pack?

No, I am able to play for an hour or so then have to restart my client because fps drops to one and doesn't recover even if I teleport to another area. Server tps stays fine and nothing shows abnormal in opis so when it happens I just restart.

Thread is not very active, thus alot of posts by just me. Blame ftb's inane emailing forum script not me. I feel repetition is the ultimate grind in life, thus, I'm not going to edit a day old post to post new info and have that info go into /dev/null for all that matters. It's not what the edit post is supposed to be used for anyways. I will tune it down tho since I'm getting no movement in activity anyways. I won't do /hqm edit since that breaks progression in my mind and haven't forced myself to do it in any of the hqm modpacks I've played. I've waited for the author to update the pack, but yeah, if I feel the need to move forward quest wise, I'll do that.

As far as performance, yes, definately overall performance issues which I attribute mainly to GT and specific to chocolate in various areas (i.e. new area and chocolate is spawning it's buildings). Same happens with millenaire, age of war (?) whenever it does regen spawn for building it's sites. Problem is worse in nether in some areas. For example, a pig zombie building camp was made but first thing it does is destroy the _ x _ block of land and places it down. Problem? Nethersilverfish. They were quite pissed at being displaced and I had to do a /cofh killall which killed 400+ of them in one setting.

OTOH, this is the first pack that has GT in it that hasn't 1) crashed on me, and 2) caused performance to go through the floor and be unplayable. I commend zodsmar for that since I've never been actually able to play GT really. Kudos to you Zodsmar for this feat.

Off the top of my head I cannot remember. I'm pretty sure tho it is an aradite pick with a head but I'm not totally sure which one right now. Once I get a chance to check I will edit this and tell you.

The Farming quest is NEED the Gregtech Tech quest? Not crafting the plastic sheets, only GT alloy smelter?? XD What a F*?!

Ok, a couple things. I setup an infinite redstone farm with bloodwood trees and I think cause of the lag (even tho it's chunkloaded), it sometimes hiccups and I have to intervene tho it's not doing it anymore.

I know jaded blacklisted a bunch of stuff in drawbridges and I'm too lazy to check this, and I don't see it as an exploit, but I setup something I thought was pretty cool. I wanted to farm skeletons for bones for above mentioned redstone farm so I safari'd a skel and made a 10x10 internal mob spawn with a offcentered mob spawner in middle and realized I should make it 11x11. did that. everything was peachy then thought it was missing cursed earth then went and did my couple of sigils that I found and got some using silk touch. Then I realized I wanted both, then came up with brainstorm. built some drawbridges, put them on both sides with a split down middle and put 5 cursed earth in each. rednet cabled up, and now I can turn on/off spawner and/or turn on cursed earth as well. works out real well. couple tanks above and cursed earth charges the essence up and then I can spawn all I want till I run dry and repeat.

TBH, I've stopped gregtech for now till I had stuff going which I'm about to finish. will make it easier I think to manage all the GT stuff.

I've raided a couple of chocolate mod fortresses(?) and I think it's mangling some metadata's. I've got lava buckets I found that have ID of 327:1 . it's got diff description than regular lava (one for generator alone, not the other 3). There are others but more specific to the mod.

Most importantly tho, opis mapwriter doesn't seem to work. the map only shows immediate surroundings at all times. Nothing more. Is this intentional or is this GT or something?

Lastly, so I'll have infinite power using heated redstone generators, but that's for RF. Any way sans power converters, to use that to power GT stuff? I was thinking steam might be an arbitrary in between point, but again, it's been along time since I played with EU. I could make lava generators running off of RF and routing that to a GT generator that takes lava as well, anyone have experience with this so I know what to build up for?

Some well placed punji sticks and a couple of grinders have mostly cured me of my cat problem. anyone need 20 stacks of fish and string? :}

You can use the steam alloy smelter it works just fine. You don't need the actual alloy smelter.

Opis shouldn't be used anymore because I added Zan's Minimap. So I tried to disable it so yes it is intentional.

I disabled Zan's and had to modify the config to get mapwriter to show again but mine shows the explored area as it always has. I prefer mapwriter for it's opis intergration.

On the question of power, I am using a railcraft solid fuel steam boiler with 12 steam dynamo's directly on one side and steam turbine on another. Haven't had any power issues thus far.

I also have a spawning room setup, it's 5x10 with 2 MFR grinders on one side. It has an auto-spawner offset to the back and the floor is cursed earth. I have 2 lights in the center of each 5x5 and thus can disable spawns at will. At the end I have a thaumic tinkerer corporeal attractor underneath the floor, and an AA with a scythe for when I want heads, etc.

Wow, this IC2 farming has reached seriously painful. First, have to make "another" machine to produce fertilizer. Then figure out how to make hydration cells which requires the use of 3 machines. Lets not forget weedex which requires 3 different machines to craft. Yay, the cropmatron automates these products for the farm. But, there's no automation for harvesting? And don't suggest the GT harvester. That block is a waste of code. Ok, got the harvest but the cropnalyzer won't use an energy cell even though the wiki says it should. Have to swap out a battery with every seed bag.

The grind is starting to get to me. Because I have been building AE automation with every step its not AS bad but even with AE the wait on the crafting is painful. I think it's time to raid another chocolate dungeon and release some rage.
