I tried to start a new world in Vanilla last weekend. I got so bored in like an hour! I felt like there was hardly anything to mine and hardly anything to do! Plus having to manually replace my pick and torches every time one ran out drove me crazy.

Oh, and I was like "where's all the other biomes?" lol.

Plus in my last world I was using Mo' Creatures too, so it seemed like there were hardly any mobs.

Has anyone else experienced this? I dont think I can ever go back to vanilla now. I feel like I took the blue pill and now I'm stuck in the matrix!

I'm kind on the opposite side to be honest, after playing with mods for about six months, I'm kind of interested in playing vanilla again. Surely there's a lot less things to do in vanilla but I have some challenges in mind to do.

Man, better than wolves.

Seriously, if you're in that place, better than wolves.

Sometimes I wish it was vanilla.

I'm actually kind of burnt out in general. Might take a bit of a vanilla break just to give myself a harsh reminder of how much I have left to do.

I don't know why people hate Better Than Wolves so much. It is arguibly one of the biggests mods out there and it would be better if FlowerChild hadn't dropped the Forge support. It's cool to find someone that also shares my opinion. It is like playing with vanilla, but you're going to be medieval, not freaking Amish.

Oh no, it's not that I'm bored of mods per se, just some times I feel there are too many things to do you know? I miss the vanilla simplicity sometimes, the fact that I don't have to do certain stuff to "advance"... And plus, in vanilla I can use my two favourite texture packs that don't have ftb support :)

Oh that's simple enough. It's because people put an equals sign between mod and modder. And there's this dogmatic image of FC floating around which makes people automatically think that the mod will sacrifice their firstborn to Cthulhu.

When it doesn't matter at all. You don't even have to know his nickname to be able to enjoy the mod.

And the mod IS great.

Lol, painterly.

Funny story that. Rhodox is.. well, he doesn't care too much and second hand info is enough for him to make an opinion so he was kinda... reluctant to make stuff for BTW cause of the "drama" surrounding it.

Someone from the btw forums talked with him about support and that gold information fell outta that guy. Naturally this managed to get on said forums.

Needles to say, FC was... insulted / felt unjustly attacked. He went balistic and well... talk about painterly might now get you banned there :D. Lol, the whole episode reminds me of this song:

Damn, that's incredibly true. And FC isn't that bad, after all. He just has a layer of sarcasm and desconsideration to people like Eloraam, who changed stuff in the Forge code so her mod could work. That doesn't mean he hates them, he even confirmed she is an excellent modder! And also: the fact that FC's avatar is a dog/wolf made me think of "dogmatic" as an involuntary pun.

Sometimes i just want to go back to vanilla to focus on building some thing more than advancing , but then i feel it is boring and without the mods minecraft would have been a game that gets annoying after a while

Meh.

I like vanilla and still play it. It not boring just like saying not having IC2 is not boring. It is just different options and challenges.

"we don't need that much content because it's a game about creativity" is something I've heard a lot. Combine that with failing to create a mod API (and giving us bats instead) and you're going to make a bad image for yourself. The sad truth is that the modding community doesn't matter. Modding keeps people playing their game, but they've already made a sale. Appeasing the modding community doesn't need to be on their top priority, sadly.

@Jyzarc: I believe he means the inventory mod that replaces stuff for you.

Too bad it messes up with the secondary ID's ( after the : )
with blocks like xycraft , it should have priority on block with the same exact ID

That is mostly because those are using damage to difference the blocks.

If it checked damage then you would never swap from 1 pickax to any other with a difference damage amount to it.

I meant prioritize the block that has the same "damage" value , is such is not found use the regular ID . Isn't that solving everything ?
