Dependant on what you want the carpenter to make and how many you need just use dark cable on the export bus and place a level emitter nearby. I used that system to auto craft impregnated sticks for frames for bees. You get an excess of sticks every crafting cycle but these are eventually used up before the next cycle kicks in.

The problem with dark cable is that when it changes it reset the entire craftingline. Its better to put level-emitter on the export bus.

Set up a level emitter to detect how many frames are in storage (this way theres always a frame in the alveary frame housings). Sure you will burn through the excess logs stored in the carpenters "buffer" when the levels drop below the target but they get used up before the next cycle. Using a dark cable and emitter ensures that theres no connection to the network once enough frames are in storage effectively turning off the carpenter.[DOUBLEPOST=1382037384][/DOUBLEPOST]

My method wasnt for crafting on demand of frames though. This would be a dedicated carpenter for impregnated sticks manufacture. Setting up the level emitter to read how many frames are in the system basically removes the need for on demand crafting so long as you have enough string.
