Updated FTB and How to Update Mods?

I'm brand new to FTB but I have downloaded the installer and it says I'm running FTB 1.2.4 and versions 1.4.7 of all the installed mods. I've seen some people mentioning a newer (1.5.x) version of FTB. Where can I get that?

Also, according to this page, Bibliocraft was updated to 1.6.2. How can I get that update through the FTB launcher?

There are multiple modpacks launchable through FTB launcher, and most of these are for Minecraft 1.4.7 (Ultimate, Mindcrack, Direwolf20 just to name a few). Updating mods is usually simple, but you must remember that it's the MC version that matters. Since you're running versions 1.4.7, it means your MC is version 1.4.7 and thus you can't "update" the mods to their 1.5.x versions (nor 1.6.x versions obviously).

So if i understand correctly, if i was to get the actual Minecraft version upgraded to 1.6.x, upgrading through the FTB launcher will automatically update/install all of the available 1.6.x mods as well?

No the packs that are currently available are for 1.4.7 of and cant be updated beyond 1.4.7. There are currently two 1.5.2 beta packs available but nothing for 1.6 because very few mods are 1.6 ready. Most likely mid August, or later, before a 1.6 pack will be available.
