unable to launch 1.6 packs

OK so i have played the FTB packs for a while now and the 1.5 and 1.4 packs worked fine for me on this same computer. However now when i try to launch the new 1.6 packs horizon and the direwolf20 pack they will download and then begin to load. However after they load for a few minutes everything just closes without any warning or error messages.
I don't know what the problem is, any help appreciated.

Welcome. Does the console stay open? If it does click on the 'Paste my log to pastebin.com' button on the console. This will put a link, pastebin.com/xxxxx, at the bottom of the console. Post the link here and we will be able to see your log and hopefully find an answer in the log. Look here so your log does not get deleted.

I was having the same problem. Turns out the server was overloaded and it wasn't downloading everything, and the damned launcher didn't know it wasn't downloading everything. It would just try to launch and fail and then never try to download anything again because as far as the launcher was concerned it was done. I waited until the middle of the night, deleted everything, and then it was able to download and start up without issue.

This appears to be an error with Waila and possibly Java. Try uninstalling all versions of Java and installing update 45. If you are still getting this same error try disabling Waila to see if that fixes it.

Edit: Please if you post another log please copy it to pastebin.com manually if you cannot get the button to work and provide the link it gives. It will make reading the thread much easier.

It's just not downloading everything it needs, I'm pretty sure. Try deleting it and redownloading it late at night and see if you get any different results.

I'm having the same issue. Interestingly I was able to run the Direwolf20 1.6.4 when I had my java version at 6, however, once in game it would get progressively lagging and freeze up. I updated my Java to 7 to fix the freezing and now everything completely closes out after the Mojang splash screen.

actually i solve this by changing my pc language to english it wasnt launching code chicken core before english but now it launchs

Hi, sorry to bring up ANOTHER report of the new FTB pack not working, but the Horizons modpack is still a little buggy for me. It was relatively stable (by which I mean it would only crash once a day or so) up until I updated to version 1.3.0. It's now crashing just before it loads the main screen, after the Mojang screen.

Dexsin i have the same problem probably because of ati drivers i just updated to latest beta and i get the same error as you get maybe degrading will help

Zazie without a log we are only guessing. Please use Java 7 and post a console log, preferably in a new thread.

This is a Java error and is usually resolved by reinstalling Java. Uninstall all versions of Java and install the latest 64bit version. You currently have the 32bit version. Also check to ensure that all your drivers are up to date.

Good idea. Usually updating is suggested, but sometimes updating introduces new errors that weren't there to begin with as you found out.

Not sure about your error. You do not have the same error that is probably causing the crash. See above. However I suggest that you try moving the FTB folder out of your downloads folder and onto your desktop. Follow this guide and try reinstalling Java and the launcher in the recommended way. Hopefully a reinstall and installing the recommended way will fix your problem as well.

This thread is becoming too crowded. I despise crowded threads. Eventually someone's thread gets looked over or the same problem different error and users get bad advice.

Please follow the recommended setup guide carefully and fully. Then if that does not fix it please start a new thread with a pastebin of your log. To do this click on the 'Paste my log to pastebin.com' button. This will create a link, pastebin.com/xxxx, to where your log was saved. Provide that link in the new thread with some info about what your problem is.

I may have found a solution. Make sure you have 64 bit java, completely delete Direwolf20 1.6.4 Pack if you have it downloaded, in options make sure you have extra debug running and open launcher when Minecraft closes selected then launch the pack. This worked for me.
