Unix Ubuntu 12.10 Launcher Crash

I am running ubuntu 12.10 with Sun Oracle Java 7, system is fully up to date.

I have tried updating the LWJGL files to both 2.8.4 and 2.8.5 with the same crash happening, the crash log is on pastebin on the link below

What are you doing when it crashes? Can you replicate it?

Try updating to FTB launcher version 1.0.4 and delete your logindata file.

I have set the default application to Sun Java. double click on the .jar file and it opens the launcher fine, Selected my profile (Login details) chosen the BETA modpack and increased allocated memory to 2GB, Max on system is 4GB. The launcher console then comes to the front and Minecraft launches, then after 4-10 seconds it crashes.

*This is with the new launcher version

After doing the above mentioned suggestions, and if the problem persists, can you post the crash report that comes up in the Minecraft program box.

I said that for a reason. Do it in those steps, if the problem persists, post the crash report. As in, rule out other possibilities so we can look for possible changes.

I started with a new install completly, I removed the old launcher version where i was getting the same problem.

Now that is a different crash report. Try all of the troubleshooting steps in the CP&S in my signature.

Is there a folder in your FTB folder named updatetemp or tempupdate or something like that?
If there is a file in it then that's 1.0.4, move it to your FTB folder and overwrite the launcher file that's there
If you are running the 1.0.4 launcher then you need to eigther edit your login detail (your account name will be all messed up) or delete the logindata file in your FTB folder and enter your login details again.

My launcher version says 1.0.5. I have deleted the logindata file and re-entered my credentials and crashed again.

Are you trying to use a texture pack? Do you have any antivirus programs installed?
Try updating your graphics drivers.

I have tried both the Open-Source driver that ships with Ubuntu and the Propriety Driver from AMD

Minecraft itself runs fine aslong as I update to LWJGL 2.8.4

FTB is the problem, I was just saying that my system runs Minecraft fine, just not when loaded via FTB

Hm... if the first error log is from launcher version 1.0.5 then apparently account name encryption don't work in unix for whatever reason.
And then have no idea what it could be.

Try using JRE instead of JDK.
Other than that, I'm out of suggestions.

Yes the error log is from 1.0.5

I will give JRE a try tomorrow and update this thread.

I can't tell if the problems are similar because our error logs look different, but I was having fewer problems with OpenJDK's JRE than I was with Oracle JRE on Arch Linux.

EDIT: I fixed my Oracle JRE 7 problems by copying updated lwjgl's jars and natives to the FTBBETAA minecraft bin folder. Oh, nevermind, I see you updated your lwjgls.
