Problem Trying to get FTB on a vanilla world

When I try to download the mod-pack on my original Minecraft, it doesn't work. It gets stuck on the Done Loading screen with the green bar stuck not quite at the end. I'm trying to play the pack on a normal map, like the Mindcrack Server players (if you know who they are), and I can't seem to do that with the FTB launcher. This is upsetting me greatly, help is greatly appreciated. I've had this problem for a while, but then I got over it and played something else, but now I want to play again. Thanks.

are you using the ftb launcher or are you downloading the individual mods
i say its best to use the launcher as it dose it all for you

Don't launch ftblauncher.exe from your original minecraft folder.

Create a folder called c:\ftb
Put ftblauncher.exe in that folder and run it from there.
