About halfway through the downloading of the Mod Pack, it just finishes instantly and goes to the Minecraft menu. But it's vanilla Minecraft without any mods on it. I tried to download it four times and they all just instantly finished halfway through and went straight to vanilla Minecraft. Please help me, I really want to play FTB =[

Here are my computer's terrible stats: I have Java 6

Machine name: DELL-4677F4037F
Operating System: Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 3 (2600.xpsp_sp3_gdr.120504-1619)
Language: English (Regional Setting: English)
System Manufacturer: Dell Inc.
System Model: Dell DM051
BIOS: Phoenix ROM BIOS PLUS Version 1.10 A07
Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) D CPU 3.00GHz (2 CPUs)

Page File: 1803MB used, 3152MB available
Windows Dir: C:\WINDOWS

DxDiag Version: *********** 32bit Unicode

If you right click on your launcher file and choose properties there should come a window where one of the shown pieces of information is "Location".
It should look something like this "C:\Program Files\Java" but with other names, could you copy that and paste it here?

Alternatively make a folder named FTB directly on the C drive, download the newest launcher from the FTB site and try to launch it from that folder to see if you still have the same problems.

I have tried to download it many times, but the same thing happens every time. I have Java 7 now and I placed the launcher in my C drive but it still doesn't work.

My file path is C:\Documents and Settings\Dell\Desktop for when it's on my desktop and
just C:\ for when it's in my C drive.

After it goes to the vanilla Minecraft launcher an error report comes up, this is what it says:

That tells me Java can't write to registries, or the registry it's trying to write to does not exist. Try running as admin.

Right click on FTB_Launcher.exe/.jar
Second Option down should be Run as Administrator.

I'm only suggesting this to rule some ideas out.
