So I've been having some trouble with bees lately, in the fact that i've been trying to breed Corroded and Tarnished bees together to get myself some Resolute bees, mainly through breeding bees in alvearies, injecting them with serums to make sure that the only thing that doesn't match is the species, and even using three mutators in the alveary. After about a stack of uranium and even a nether star, I've still only managed to get corroded-tarnished mixes. Am I being dumb or is this a bug?

I don't know much about bees but I'd guess that spending huge amounts of resources on one thing isn't a good idea if it doesnt work the first time. I'm sure someone else will help you soon though, good luck.

Also, welcome to the forums!

What version are you playing on? The mutation was changed recently, and while you're using the right bees for the most up to date version, it's wrong for an older one.

But...

injecting them with serums to make sure that the only thing that doesn't match is the species

Is a waste of time. The only thing that matters is the species when you're trying to mutate.

I'm currently using the most up-to-date version of Mindcrack, v8.2. I'm guessing it changed since then?

As for the second part I know it's a waste of time, but I have lots of time to waste on making them all stack nicely. For neatness sake.

Not AFAIK. Your mutation should work, and with three mutator blocks with uranium in them it should be all but guaranteed in a single try.

When in doubt try another mutator block. Then again, looking at the patchnotes from the current beta that advice is going to not only not work it may have adverse effects in the future.

If I recall the mutation rate on these is pretty low. It took me several tries to get Resolute and I only used Soul Frames. Random number generator is random so have to keep at it.

I've had a pretty decent return in successful mutations in an alveary with a frame (Soul) and mutator block (uranium). I'm not sure if having multiple blocks stack or whether they are even necessary, or if stacking them somehow equates to "he's added how many, fck that I'm breaking and not doing anything".

Just try 1 mutator and 1 soul frame per mutation.
