Make a nether portal if you can find obsidian, and then find your original portal. Bam back to overworld.

Nether Portals only (apparently) work with dimensions <= 0. Twilight Forest portals likewise might only work when activated in the overworld.

Why on earth would anyone get the friend to break the mystcraft book anyway, rather than getting said friend to make a bloody linking book and come through with it?

Lacking an ability to OP onesself, getting stuck in a mystcraft age (And foolishly getting 'friends') to destroy the only way there, I guess the way out is the great adventure: hope to find wood, iron and ink and keep creating ages until you find one with a rift.

What are you saying about destroying the book? If you're talking about my suggestion, I recall saying "getting a friend to come through" not "destroy..."
I think the most recent person with a question did actually have the ability to OP themselves, and I think they *may* have solved the problem.

Someone other than the original poster was having the same issue, and got their friend to break the book.

I need help, if anyone is still here. I am on a server with people, I cannot do the cheats (I have tried) and I'm in a sort of flat world nether with NOTHING. How can I get back? I've tried killing myself and I just spawn back there, I had my friend break the book on overworld and nothing. Please, help me?!

Having a friend break the book is the best way to get even more stuck. Having a friend make a linking book back to the Overworld and bring it to you would be a good way to get out (you can both use the same linking book to get home).

Hi, I have a problem. I am in a randomly spawned world. It inflicts all debuffs on me. Meteors are everywhere. Oh, and did j mention that I have no linking books, as well as there not being any wood for a pickaxe. And it's on a server where no one has permissions to cheat. Please help!

In this case, your best bet is likely to contact your server admin/staff. Else, convince someone on the server to bring you a Linking Book to aid your escape.

I couldn't do that, since even admins don't have permission to spawn items, and I didn't want anyone else trapped. One stead I got owner to erase all myplayerdata for the server, thanks for the help though!

Why do you even ask if you just go ahead and do the stupid thing? A linking book out would have allowed everyone to escape.

I had one, but I died right away and lost it, that and, it was so laggy I couldn't even use it.
