Would you like to see Thaumic Reliquary with Xeno's reliquary in future packs?

I would honestly poke my own eyes out if that was how you progressed in BM. I'm going to say it. I don't like TC research. I just use the cheat book and get it all. It is honestly one of my least favorite mechanics from any mod

Really? Do you feel that passionately? I'm not going to argue with you, I don't particularly care for the subject, I just prefer the way TC does things, even though I like BM as stand alone mod more.

Look.. I've been around on the thaumcraft bandwagon for a long time..
And I like my thaumcraft just as much as the next guy... But making it some universal standard of everything magical is just pushing it.. Especially when Blood magic has it's own well thought out progression.

Personally I'd consider a mod that did that slapping way in the face with a pair of goggles saying, "Sorry, your mods cool and all bro, but it isn't magic enough for me so we made it count on thaumcraft. Kbye."

Reliquary worked because it was a magical mod that didn't have any magic to it other than it's magic based crafting components. They were powerful, but could be made willy nilly...

Personally I feel like something like magical crops would benefit through a cross mod interaction maybe more in the way of botania rather than thaumcraft.

Well, blood magic is another subject, please leave it D: For the reliquary part, well, as you said the making of it was kind of willy nilly and reliquary hast a ton of potential.. One of the reasons its not well know is because of their recipes not being obvious and maybe (at least this is my opinion) because it lacks a defined progression.. Giving it thaumcraft related progression should not only help the mod to grow but also justify some of it power..

Reliquary's plenty well known it's just that some kinda consider it.. overpowered in some cases. Main concern being the lily pads... and the tome.. even though the tome got knocked out of existence.

Allot of it's items are also a bit lack luster.. golden item that repairs gold weapons for glowstone dust... Gold is worse than stone, it merely has enchant ability...

But then there were it's claims to fame, the bullets to stop rain, the eye to stop blazes and ghast attacks...Lillypad of fertillity.. All smart, cool idea's, but EXTREMELY powerful.

See? You dont know xeno's reliquary. A lot of people tend to think that because they know 2 or 3 items, they know the op items and most used ones.. But for example, you tell me that gold is worse than stone.. But the magicbane is made of gold and counts with the midas stone as gold, so you can repair it too, and not because its gold its worse than stone, it is one of the better weapons there is if you know how to enchant it properly.. The mercy cross is also made of gold, almost no uses but with a midas stone you got a smite 5 weapon..

And, as you said, there is extremely powerfull stuff, the eye is extremely powerfull.. Also the coin is too, and if it wasnt for the cost i would say that ender bullets are op too, but as you need seeking first, they arent that bad.. But now, as they are powerfull, giving them a thaumcraft based research, would make them a little more balanced.. and for the not well knwn stuff, would make a chance to shine! reliquary is not just a bunch of op items.. It has some neat usefull stuff that has some balance into it, its just that people tend to use only Op things.

I know Xenos reliquary but smite five isn't anything to write about. Smite five can be placed on any weapon. Without it eating up glowstone. Keeping stray items in your inventory is okay, but in the end most players want efficiency. I've used the cloak of distortion because it's easier to obtain over an invisibility spell from Ars magica. People spam lilypads of fertility because they do the job well, and are cheap.They want less space taken up in their inventory's.. They'll make thaumcraft swords with repair nullifying any item that has a consumption cost.

Sharpness is the round robin enchant for combat working on spiders, creepers, skeletons... And even with smite five, and sharpness five undead mobs will take about two hits to kill. It would only really be noticable in a fight against a wither.. or some other boss that's undead..

And it is worse than stone, enchants are fine and dandy, but most players can strip enchants and place them on any tool they want that's far more durable than gold or just outright unbreakable. I could put sharpness five if a stone sword and it could outdamage a gold sword.

Xenos is nice when stood alone, but in a modpack the only items that really stand out are the powerful items... Unless you're aiming to be unique, or trying something new... And there isn't anything wrong about that. It's just, how many times do you see threads titled "most efficient X" and how many times do you see a thread titled "

I know xeno's reliquary and have tried exploring it's possibilities... But for me.. I don't like keeping inventory full of gunpowder and enderpearls.. or glowstone on my person all the time... I got enough junk to haul around usually. I don't like sacrificing redstone for glowstone, as redstones better for my tinker tools or making extra utility nodes.. I've tried the "none op" items, but their cost just isn't on the level for me. Carrying a wand full of vis to repair my items is more fun to me.. it's just one item in my inventory that extends to many utilities. Safe for anyone using redstone flux tools.

You don't seem to understand that mods add variety, if it were like you said, and no one cared about something because there is something better, then the mod community wouldn't exist. We wouldn't have 5 technical mods in a modpack, because everyone of them adds exactly the same but with different progression. But either way, if you don't like Xeno's reliquary, then you are free to vote negative here and forget about this, as you are not doing any constructive criticism but only saying that xenos doesnt stand out because there is other alternatives, which is basically the premise of a mod pack, having different alternatives. Also, smite is the better enchantment in combat, you are most likely going to fight skeletons, zombies and spiders 80% of the time, 2 of which get more damage from smite. One of them being the most dangerous of the trio. Also, if you use void satchels, you can carry a ton of snowballs or gunpowder or enderpearls or glowstone or whatever you need to fuel your desired xenos item.

For the IC2 thing and stuff, please don't off-topic this one, this mod's intention is really different, it only add's an integration that gives reliquary more meaning and progression and makes it more fun, as pointed out somewhere on this post, it even gives the option for player to use the preferred method of crafting if its allowed in the server, so yeah..[DOUBLEPOST=1398134848][/DOUBLEPOST]And.. the shroomer account.. wow.. The cookie option was meant for people who would like to see more content in the mod itself before adding it.. The mod gives you a cookie, then you accept the mod :p also, this is not a thaumcraft add-on, this is a thaumcraft support for Reliquary mod.. Is not meant to be used by thaumcraft players but Xeno's reliquarys instead.

The reason i choose that, is because I think Thaumic Reliquary is a mod that should only be used on packs that are FOCUSED on Thaumcraft, not just throwing it in there for no apparent reason.
That is the reason why the opt in/out exists, but still.
Just because I am a mod developer doesn't mean I am not allowed opinions, and for them to not agree with others :)

That would kind of ruin (one of) the point(s) of Forbidden Magic, though.
Here you have this integration mod, to integrate one thing to itself. What.
 
Honestly, I am getting kinda scared of Thaumcraft overtaking the mod market. Everyone seems to concentrate on it, which leads to bazillions of addons.
