Got this 20 minutes ago when I made my first world generation for the MindCrack pack.

2012-12-31_181110_zps37c76910.png

In-case anyone was going to ask: Yes, I spawned that high from the ground, yes, it was horrifically laggy and yes, there were other biomes nearby but they consisted of oceans and even more gargantuan trees. Needless to say I plan to make a new file but first I have to find out how to stop such biomes from being created. I am fine with the odd fir (or redwood) tree but huge forests are a horrible laggy joke.

Anyway, this made me wonder if other people have had similar misfortunes. Share your bad spawn stories and images here!

I had a nether spawn in last world which was a small 6x6x1 layer netherrack island right above a giant lava pool, I did had some long falling boots, so if I sprinted I could make it to some land, but it was too dangerous to build to there because there were already 2 ghasts flying around eyeing me.

My newest world I spawned on an island with ocean as far as my Minimap could see out.

Luckily I had one tree (which dropped 1 sapling the first time and scared me). I'm happy with my island though, it's a fun area to build in, and now that I have my nether portal I can just make another one to get to other biomes.

Simple graphics would have helped but I think the worst part was the mass of leaf decay. I could see a ton of pixels changing on the minimap.

I have decided to remove the 5 biomes which spawn those troublesome trees. The decorative logs might be nice but apart from that they won't be missed. :)

I did the same thing after spawning in the middle of a lush redwoods and instantly crashing.

The look of unbroken snow is lovely but rarely is that going to be the case if you're planning to live there. With all of the building overhangs and torches it looks like a patchy mess. Love snow blocks, hate the snow covers.

7 out of the 28 biomes from ExtraBiomesXL are snow-based - that's 25%! After the removal of Firs and Redwoods it's 5 out of 23 which is a tad more pleasing. The temptation to remove the biomes which have snow covers is quite high but I will leave them be for now.

This is the first one I got when I tried the DW20 pack, same seed on Mindcrack pack too. I tried to make a go of it but I gave up after about 10 mins.

Large Biomes.
Seed: 64756620

I didn't think spawns like this were even possible. Check it out.

Worst two spawns I've had...first time I tried to play Tekkit, I spawned dead in the middle of a huge area of taint. Almost died from a cow of all things.

Second was a random seed, I can't even remember what it was. Spawned in the water. Middle of a pretty sizable ocean. I swam for 4 or 5 minutes before giving up and @nuking the world.

I generated a new world and what a difference!

For starters, no Firs or Redwoods sticking out like a sore thumb. I spawned in a grassy area with an oddly shaped mountain nearby. Through it mountain I can see the start of an Autumn Forest. Moving across the Plains I found a small river which runs around another mountain with a forest on top (plus a Silverwood tree) that leads to a desert and a woodland area (with another Silverwood tree). Going through that I then come across more mountain forests and an expanse of relatively-flat lush green turf with a Village dead in the middle. I also spotted the start of a swamp biome behind it with two more Silverwood trees on the side.

Not a fir, redwood or bit of snow in sight. Bliss![DOUBLEPOST=1356991391][/DOUBLEPOST]I generated a new world and what a difference!

Going through that and up a mountain forest I find a deep bowl-shaped hollow at the top which looked pretty neat. Going to the edge and looking across I see an expanse of relatively-flat lush green turf with a Village dead in the middle. I also spotted the start of a swamp biome behind it with two more Silverwood trees on the side. Oh, and not forgetting the ravine which sits nearby!

Beautiful area. Not bad chest items too: Thaumium ingots, bronze and iron tools/equipment plus some food.

Last two worlds were lovely vistas of unbroken blue. First one, I spawned IN the water with no land in view or on map.

Second, using the seed "Magic Test" was a small island in the middle of an ocean. However, this is the seed where my base is now. I of course left the little tree-free island and headed NNW. Now I have ravines and villages and Silverwood and TONS of variances to enjoy with a number of wildly different biomes nearby. Straight north for redwoods, firs and a small village. Head to -900, -3380 for the quaint village I have set up beside to protect. Very nice being on a hill above an autumn forest w/ village and meadow on the other side. :D

This is the only forum that I have seen that involves spawning. I am having some serious trouble, and I am new to FTB. Whenever I spawn, I spawn on a single piece of bedrock and the rest of the world is empty. Can anyone help? If there is a post about this, could someone link it to me?

The DW20 pack world I'm currently playing was a pretty awful spawn. It's on an island, and while the mainland isn't too far away (not far enough to decide to ditch the world and start again) it's still a little frustratingly far (or it will be until I get a method of fast travel up and running). The island itself came stocked with plenty of pigs and a few cows (enough to breed from, which I really need to do more actively, but not enough to kill any off yet) and some sheep, but annoyingly only a single chicken so I haven't got started with Mystcraft yet.

It was great to have two silverwood trees on the island (and I've got a decent number of saplings from them, thanks RP scythe) but on the other hand: NO other trees! :(

A majority of servers my admin creates using random seeds tend to be largely ocean biomes... I remember playing a vanilla where we made 5000 block train bridges to mainland :D

Are you playing with the 1.2.5 pack? If so look here.
